[Status: Launched ๐] Mark Project on Hold Sub-Projects and Tasks Should Follow
We have a project with multiple subprojects which also have tasks and subtasks. If we put a project on hold, there should be an option to place all subsequent tasks and subprojects on hold too.
I have brought this up before so I know that there is an option with mass editing, but when you have multiple projects each with custom workflows using mass editing removes the custom workflow assigned.
Lisa, that's more than disappointing to learn, especially when we were told (December 2020) that it was "coming soon" in Wrike Automation. Why the change?
Hi Brandi Jobes, apologies for the late reply. I checked with the team and they are still willing to introduce this enhancement in the future. At the time they were researching this suggestion and planning to release it in 2021, it turned out it was not possible to work on it ahead of other improvements.ย

Weโd love to be able to implement all of the suggestions that our customers share with us, but we have to prioritize certain requests over others based on various factors and considerations at the time. Although this isnโt currently planned, we will continue to pass on all of your feedback and insights here to our Product Team and of course, we will let you know if anything changes.ย

I agree disappointing. Why is placing a plan on hold even an option if it doesn't place all tasks on hold? Is there a function I am not understanding?
Is there a way to change something on the plan level so assigned tasks will be omitted from to-do lists? My goal is to not see deadlines (and missed deadlines) from a project that we do not know enough about yet to reschedule.
Welcome to the Community Erin Johnson! it's possible to put the tasks in the projects on hold as well, it's just not possible to do it automatically at the moment. I was thinking that maybe mass actions could help you to change the status of multiple tasks at the same time?ย

It's 2023... and still no progress on this request. Very disappointing. Lisa, it may be worth mentioning to the Wrike developers that an obstacle like this has the effect of discouraging my team from mapping out projects as Wrike is intended to be used because there is time-consuming administrative work that is needed to clean up if/when a project does not go as planned.ย
I echo Louis's sentiment. Having to do this is a drain on an already overloaded project management team. Ironically, yesterday I received a Wrike survey and listed this as my number one complaint and the primary reason we would choose an alternate program.

I have also experienced this same problem in Wrike where I had to place a project on hold and assumed assigned task users would no longer get "pinged" because they would also be placed on hold. I quickly learned the hard way that wasn't the case. Instead, I had to manually place each task and subtask "on hold" which was incredibly time-consuming and tedious. This negatively impacts the efficiency of using Wrike and caused some frustrations within our company. I'm hoping this post receives enough upvotes and will be resolved soon.
