Request from - don't add to description or title option

Hi there,

Within my request form for feedback on a range of products, I currently use one of the first questions to redirect the parent folder to the right product folder. However, I am forced to add this information to either the title/description or a custom field. However, I do not need this information displayed anywhere, as it is displayed by the task being in the right folder, and it only clutters my description field. I could add a custom field that is hidden, but that is just a workaround.

Can we have an option to not add a question answer to the description/title, but only use it as a redirect?

Cheers,

Pieter

I have a similar request. We use request forms for our staff to "order" items from our department. It's basically a list of what's available, and they just select what they need. But when a project is created from the submitted form, every item (question) is listed in the project description even if they didn't request it (or respond to that question). It would be great if only the items staff requested (or questions answered) are filled in the description box. Otherwise, it's a lot of unnecessary information, especially when they only request one to two items.

Will post this as a separate request as well.

This would be fantastic. Just more functionality for Request forms in general would be great. Or the ability to populate the description with a formula based on responses?

Thank you for weighing in, Jessie Ostrander! I don't have an update from the team at the moment, unfortunately, but I'll let you know once I have news from the team.

We would also like not to have to add the Q&A of a request form to either the description or title. I have some questions used just for routing reasons, so they are unnecessary and duplicative in the description of the final task created. This feature would help streamline our task descriptions and reduce noise.

Happy 11/1/23 everyone.  Has there been any movement on this request?  I am needing to update a request form and would love to be able to remove the description field as it is not needed and is confusing to the requester.  Thank you

Hey Jenn Jarvis! Our team is aware of this feedback, but it's on the lower side of votes at the moment and we don't have updates currently. If anything changes in the future, we'll make sure to let you know!

Casting my vote for this and just generally more functionality with the request form. My team lives in tasks generated by requests and being able to optimize the notes generated by the requests by simply selecting not to add unnecessary text would help a lot. Especially in instances like when an optional question isn't answered, having that unanswered question posted in the notes with every other answer is just empty visual clutter. It's poor user experience. Why force the user to add things if they don't need them? Especially with all the conditional logic in play, it seems natural that some questions are aimed solely at providing conditions the meet the context and do not need to be recorded. It slows things down when it could help to speed things up.
