[Released] Recurrent Tasks Beta Program
Recurring tasks have been the topic of one of our hottest Community discussions, and in June we launched a beta program packed with changes based on your suggestions.
Quick recap of what things were like before:
- All tasks in a recurrence were created at the same time and were immediately shown in the Workspace, which resulted in a whole bunch of identical tasks.
- The maximum number of recurrences in a single chain was 60.
Now:
- Tasks are created (and appear in the Workspace) right before their start date. Each task in a recurrence is created one working day before its start date, at around 5 o'clock in the morning (your timezone). Example: If I have a weekly recurrence on Monday, a new task is created every Friday.
- The maximum amount of recurrences was raised to 999.
What else?
- Future tasks (that haven't been created yet) don't show up on the Timeline or Workload View.
- When a recurrence comes to an end, the author and assignee get @mentioned on the last task with a message letting them know that the recurrence had ended.
- Recurring task titles are based on the original task’s title, and the start date of the recurrence is added after the original title.
- If you’re not using a recurrence, Wrike automatically pauses it. If 15 tasks weren’t modified, Wrike Bot lets you know that the recurrence is now paused. Need to unpause it? Just modify a task.

Yep - I'll give it a bash!
I am interested in being a beta tester for this. Thank you!
We use reccurent tasks for weekly reports.
Seems ok for the team to show the next occurence only one working day in advance. Count us in for testing.

^^^ Right here, please.
I'd love to test this out
I can't joint the beta because of similar concerns as Paul Copping and others. We use recurring tasks e.g. for weekly meetings. If the task is created just 1 day before the meeting we can't add the agenda for the meeting before that. So it would make more sense to e.g. create the task in the night before the latest task was scheduled. So if the task is recurring weekly on Monday, on Monday the tasks for the coming week would also be available, making it possitble to add content to the description or in my case add an agenda immediately after the meeting of the current week took place.
Yes, please, count me in.
Please give me access!

@Anastasia, please count me in to the Beta Test Program. I would love to test out this feature and provide power feedback!
I agree with Paul Copping's comment above, "For us to use it would be necessary to have the option be able to define and edit this creation period for each recurrent task." — Ideally, we should be able to choose the number of days prior, that the recurrent task is created — and there should be option for that to be relative to the Start Date or the Due Date.
Having said that... yes please, add our account to the beta program.
I also agree with Beat Z'graggen's comment — so if in the v1.0 of this feature you have to 'hardwire' in a trigger timeframe for the new task creation, make it one week prior, not one day prior.
In. Please add our account to the beta.

YES PLEASE! This has been the number one pain with Wrike that constantly has me looking at Asana or other systems. I would love to help!
