[Status: Backburner ⌛️] Customize Conflict Monitor

We have several project managers who each manage projects independently. It would be great to have the conflict monitor only reflect projects that I own, since I'm not particularly interested in whether my colleagues' projects are behind. I would love to have the ability to limit which projects that monitor checks.

Hi Nicole, thanks for sharing this idea! I'm also really interested in hearing a bit more about what kind of info you'd ideally like to see in regards to scheduling conflicts for Projects. Right now, the Conflicts Monitor reflects dependency related conflicts, and I'm just curious whether there are any other types of data you're interested in seeing there?

Hi Anastasia! We set milestones at the end of each project. Using the conflicts monitor, it is very easily visible if a project is going to complete after the due date or predicted completion date. Apart from being able to limit which projects it looks at (which would be a HUGE help), it would also be helpful to see the new completion date. In other words, on which date are the dependencies now scheduled to be completed? I think with those two changes, this widget would be awesome for us.

I'm +1'ing this comment. I am seeing conflicts for every project in our organization and we have 200 people working here. I only care about conflicts with my projects.

+1 for this ! I don't see how you can monitor multiple projects if every projects information are mixed together.

We have more than 10 big projects at the same time so we want to see how the real progress of each project impacts their milestones and eventually re-schedule the project if necessary.

Also when you click on a conflict, it takes you to the top of the Gantt Chart. It would be better if it shows the 2 tasks that are concerned by the conflict and not the whole planning. Especially in our case we have projects with more than 100 tasks so it is very hard to find which task is are in conflict.

Adding my vote for the same request as others. I want to choose the set of projects for which I'm interested in seeing schedule conflicts - all others I have not selected should not appear in my dashboard widget.

A workaround that may help...

While the built in Dashboard Widget shows conflicts for the entire account, the Analytics View shows conflicts only for the selected folder.

As noted, clicking on a conflict takes you to the Timeline view for the folder, but if you switch to List view then the task with the conflict is shown.

I agree with request,

Reports and Dashboards need to be able to filter conflicts.

My use case is that we have built a simple Dashboard that shows task status, through a common development pipeline,

Senior management then review this dashboard but although it shows overdue tasks, that really is too late, I added Conflicts Widget and it does show conflicts that will happen for that folder it also shows all conflicts in account.

This just makes it more difficult to focus on these particular problem projects in the development pipeline is again makes their adoption of using the software more difficult.

One of the points of using project management software is to aid in preventing missing dates not just Identify that we are already overdue.

@Paul It's not a conflicts monitor, but would it be helpful to generally see tasks which have a due date 7 or 30 days from the current date? If it is, you can create a widget which shows tasks in a particular Folder and then from the "Due date" section filter for 7 days ahead or 30 days ahead. The tasks in the widget will automatically update each day.

Daves work around is sweet - thanks Dave! But in the hopes the product team takes note on the # of comments for this post adding my two cents,  it seems crazy that you cant identify issues with more specifics at a global dashboard level. As a company with numerous regions, managers, and milestones the conflicts monitor provides too much noise to be of use.

I'm adding my voice here as well and echo everything that has already been said: the Conflicts Monitor should allow you to target a specific folder or project to show conflicts from. And, when clicked, it should take you to the conflict in question, not just the top of the Gantt chart.

I'm shocked this doesn't have more votes. I'm afraid I don't see any usefulness for the conflict monitor widget unless I can make it project-, folder-, or space-specific.

Is there any progress on this topic? The widget is really useless without being able to select folders.

Adding my voice to this one. I am new to Wrike and getting things set up for my team, I started using the conflicts monitor (VERY helpful), but then noticed it was account-wide and I couldn't specify a folder.

Please make it customize-able !

I agree! I'd like to build a timeline risk dashboard per space, and since I can't filter the conflicts monitor widget by space it's not terribly useful!

I agree with everyone's sentiments here - this is a feature a number of my teams would love to use, but can't because the widget cannot be filtered. Surely the functionality must be there, if the analytics view can pull this information?

+1 for adding a sort function by project. I set up dashboards for multiple programs and would not even be able to use this feature unless I can filter out the unnecessary projects/programs. It would just confuse people and be an annoyance. Otherwise, this is a really neat feature.

Ryan Miller Indeed. There is simply no use for conflict monitoring if you can't filter on location. Maybe Wrike isn't build for large companies after all, disappointing.

We also would like to have this functionality. Conflict monitoring should be in the responsibility of the project managers, so they need to be able to filter their projects.

We've had multiple teams who struggle with this. We are a multi-team department that need to see projects specifically related to their initiatives broken out by projects and folders. Without this filter, the conflicts monitoring widget has no value to our large team. Echoing the comments above.

Hi again, everyone! 👋

As this suggestion reached the 60 votes threshold, I've checked with our Product team to add a status to this idea here. The team is interested in it even though there are currently no plans to work on it. It means that they'll be keeping this suggestion to customize this widget on their radar. Huge thanks to everyone who\s been providing their feedback here, we'll keep you posted on the updates going forward 👍

I'm adding my +1 to this list. We manage multiple initiatives in Wrike and seeing conflicts across all spaces and projects means we cannot undertake initiative-specific, team-specific and project-specific management. Given that this is still in the 'keep an eye on it' category it would be good to see this bumped up into the production line.
