New Layout

Hello,

We like the interface of the new layout but the option to organize everything by "Assigned To" "Due Date" etc... has disappeared, is there anywhere to see this feature again?

I'm going to add another piece of feedback here re: the new layout. You've moved the task searching to the far upper right corner. When I'm looking for specific information in a task, I'm always scanning my list of projects or already working in the left portion of the screen. It now feels very awkward to travel to the opposite end to do a task search.

Using ALT+SHIFT+S I can get around it, still an unusual place to have the search.

I'll also echo the feedback above, sometimes I need to view projects assigned to... those filters are gone.

Thanks for sharing your feedback about the Updated Navigation Panel, it’s very important for us to hear your thoughts about it!

Since Quick Filters are no longer available I would like to share 3 other ways to see a specific set of tasks:

  • Use filters – they are almost the same as Quick Filters but without the preconfigured options. Quick tip: to quickly filter current task list by assignee click “TO: All” and select the assignee from the dropdown list.

  • Create a custom Dashboard widget – basically, you can save a filtered list of tasks and it will always be available for you on your Dashboard. Let me know if you need any help with setting up widgets to reflect the same data which was available in the Quick Filters view.
  • Build a Report. Wrike Reports help you create a list of tasks or Projects that meet specific criteria; you can build reports in a couple of clicks with the Report Templates. Note, that this option is available only on Business and Enterprise accounts.

Please let me know if you have any questions, I’ll be happy to help. Have a great day!

Anna, that's great if you're looking for tasks within a specific context but the Quick Filters option offered a global context that seems to be missing now. Can you tell me how to, for example, pull up all backlogged tasks in the system for one of my employees? This was trivially easy to do in the past and now appears impossible. Either I'm missing something here, or perhaps the global context wasn't considered when this change was made. Since this was also a great way to make new dashboard widgets that displayed global information, your suggestion to make a custom widget is also not very helpful anymore I'd be interested in any other suggestions you may have - thanks!

Hi Dennis, thanks for posting your question here! It is still possible to filter tasks on the account level and build custom Dashboard widgets with tasks from the whole account. Here are the steps for pulling up all backlogged tasks assigned to a specific user:

  1. If you don’t see your Folders and Projects, click the hamburger button 1 in the left upper-hand corner of the Workspace.
  2. Click your account name from the left-hand Folder tree. 2
  3. Click the menu button 3 at the upper right-hand corner of the List View and select “Show Subfolders” - this will show tasks from all Folders and Projects that are shared with you.
  4. Now you can apply the filters to see only backlogged tasks assigned to a specific user: click the filters icon 4, check the box next to “backlogged” in the “task type” filter group and select the assignee.
  5. To add the filtered list to Dashboard: click the menu button and select “Add to Dashboard”.

Does this help? Let me know if you were looking for something else and I’ll do my best to help you :)

Anna, that worked well. Thanks very much! Please note that I will still echo the above sentiment that the search and the filters have been made harder to use by these UI changes. It's actually easier to search for a project now, though it's a task system! You did solve my immediate issue though, which I very much appreciate. Have a good weekend!

When you do redesigns, could you please have older people review them before you roll them out? White text on a dark background is always harder to read for many people, especially older people. Some fonts are better (what you used to have) and others worse (what you use now).

This fad of graying out some text so that is it harder to see makes this worse. I use search all day every day. I see you put an option on the left now, but I'm not sure how the two search boxes differ.

But I will tell you that working in Wrike is now much harder on my eyes, especially when I'm trying to find grayed out tiny text far from where I normally look.

Keep in mind that every time you make changes you reduce our productivity. So make them rarely. And please consider your users over 40 when choosing fonts, colors and text size.

Speaking of text size, this box I'm typing is a good example of text that is TOO SMALL for no good reason. At least the box isn't tiny, too.

I second Gail's comments! I don't know if it's an "age" thing but I think it's just easier on the eyes to see black on white than the other way around...especially if you are looking at it many times a day.  For me, at least, this is a big deal!

Create a focus group to evaluate which they would like better and I would be very surprised if white over black wins out.

I think the decision to use the current look is more a marketing decision and less from the point of view of productivity and ease of use.

Hi guys, this is a fair request. I've passed it onto the Product Team and if the opportunity exists to test with existing customers then this will take place. Either way, the team are aware of your design concerns and have been provided with this thread as a reference. Thanks for posting 🙌
