Notify reviewers by email when a file has been posted (or updated) for review.

We work with several collaborators who do not work in Wrike on a regular basis. If I have a file for one of them to review, I have to manually send them an email or notify them by some other means that a file is up and ready for them to review. At this point, they have to navigate to Wrike, then locate the file either in it's folder/project or by looking in their inbox.

The process for the review should be as simple as clicking a button in the email that says "Open Now" or "Click Here to Review" and automatically opens the file in their browser without having to search for it.

Hi Phillip, thanks for posting it here! This functionality is already available in Wrike: when you add someone as a reviewer or add a new version of a file that is in review the reviewers receive an email notification with an "Open update in Wrike" button.
If Collaborators in your account don't receive these notifications despite having email notifications enabled (and they can't be found in the Spam/Junk folder) please let me know and I'll be happy to open a support ticket for you.

To clarify, our users receive emails for EVERYTHING else possible, but they are never notified when there is a file awaiting their review. There is a notification in their Wrike inbox, but this is definitely not the same as receiving an email notification in Outlook.

We have used this feature quite a bit, and there has never been a notification email.

Hi Phillip, thanks for getting back to me! All account members (Users and Collaborators) should receive an email notification when someone assigns them to review a file. Since Collaborators on your account don’t receive these notifications, I’m opening a Support ticket on your behalf so that our team could help sort this out.

Wanted to add to this thread, having the same issue. I turned off notifications for anything but @ mentions and assignments, but if someone adds me to review chain, I am not getting notifications via email. This is a pretty critical bug, as certain members of the team who already deal with tons of emails a day are stuck enabling everything when they only need to be notified if they have to review something or are specifically mentioned.

Hi Austin, thanks for your question! To receive email notifications when you are assigned to review, you should enable the setting “The Date, Assignee or Status is changed” in both “For tasks assigned to me or created by me” and “For other tasks I follow” sections.

All other settings don’t affect notifications about review assignment, so they can be turned off. Could you please try enabling these settings and check if you start receiving the notifications? Let me know if I can answer any other questions or help with anything else.

Hi there,

Yes, enabling that checkbox notifies when a review is required, however, I think this is a design flaw. Reviewers are generally managers who only want to get emails when they are specifically @mentioned or something directly applies to them. So being updated when the date or status of a task changes is not necessary and is just clutter to them. Because an @mention is a specific targeted request for their response, this is more in line with a review request.

I'm suggesting moving the review request notification to the bucket for @mentions, and removing it from the Date/Assigned/Status changed section.

Thanks for getting back to me, Austin! Your suggestion makes perfect sense to me, and it would be great if you could create a separate feedback post about it, so other users could upvote it. I’ll make sure to make a note of this suggestion to our Product Team, who also monitor our forums.

Hello, has this issue been addressed yet? I agree with Austin Headley's suggestion regarding moving the review request notification to the @mentions option, so that users are not bombarded with unnecessary emails from Wrike that don't have anything to do with Proof Reviews. Our team members are becoming overwhelmed with these email notifications & disabling everything which defeats the purpose of having notifications feature. Please give an update on this if possible, thanks very much!
