[Status: Released ๐Ÿš€] Task Templates option from the Request Form

I feel the Request Form was a great addition to Wrike.   It just lacks the ability to make this request into a working ticket for someone to fulfill.   Ex.   We have people request a laptop via a Request Form to gather their specs.   After they make this request, it is handed off to a technician.   They have to follow a checklist to make sure all items are completed with that laptop build.   Ex.  Patches, Antivirus, Encryption, etc.   But, the request form does not allow you to have a template added to the request form automatically.    We used to do this by just duplicating a template, but just becomes tedious.

The need for Flexible (conditional) creation of several tasks from templates via request form based on what the submitter needs would be a great addition to forms.  It would be great to have conditional task templates.  Flexible templating of a sort.

So we all know that you can have the form create project from a task, project, or project from template,  So to take it a step further, at the questions level, be able to tie a task to an answer.  By having this option, it would only create tasks based on what the user selects rather than having a template generate tasks with potential of having tasks that would be opt out of.

To help paint the picture, please see example below.

Current form state:
Form is for car service.  A customer would fill this out.  The mechanic would complete the work.
Car work needed
1. Wash car
2. Change oil
3. Rotate tires
4. Install new air filter
5. Install new brake

When a customer fills out this form and selects 3 options, a project from a template is generated. That template has 5 tasks. Each task relating to the work that is needed. The mechanic would need to complete 3 tasks and then opt out of the 2 tasks as they arenโ€™t needed.  The mechanic may not know what tasks/work needs to be done without having a description field or having to follow up with the customer to confirm work needed.

Future form state:

When a customer fills out the form and selects 3 options, only 3 tasks would generate to create the project.  The mechanic would only need to complete the number of tasks that show up.  The future state would save time for the mechanic as there would be no extra tasks that would need to be clicked thru. They wouldnโ€™t need to assume or try to contact the customer to see what work needs to be done. They could rely on the tasks created as the work that is needed.

Itโ€™s kind of dynamic as it would be based on what the customer selects from the form. So anywhere from 1 to 5 tasks could possibly generate.

Please reach out with any questions or if additional clarification is needed.

Upvoted and I would vote 1,000 times if I can.  We are doing SOOOO much manual work with duplicate and replicating tasks and it leads to people screwing up my templates lol.

The ability to have a set of request forms that can trigger task templates would be HUGE for us.

Just an fyi the project thing really doesnt work for us.  It doesnt intelligently understand a template for something that is not a project, we tried that as a workaround.

Upvoted this as well.

Actually, if you could add subtasks based on checkboxes or other options would be even better! (i.e. a list of languages to translate a design into, creating subtasks for each language)

Hi Wrike team, Thanks for finally implementing the use of template tasks on request forms, this is really useful to us, however, you have missed one very crucial feature available on the Project templates: "Add prefix for all tasks and subfolders created from template".

This completely negates the time saved having to copy tasks from the requested project (which we don't use) in to their relevant folder, as it now takes just as long if not longer to copy the prefix on to all the sub tasks.

Please could you add this additional step when setting up the request form.

Thanks

Angus

Thanks @Stephen! Very exciting - I have to second/upvote the prefixes as well. Not sure if commenting here or on the post is the best place to do it. Your work on this is much appreciated!
