Custom templates let account owners and admins save spaces as templates, so you can quickly launch new spaces with all your favourite configurations. Whether you’re planning marketing campaigns, onboarding new team members, or rolling out product launches, custom templates help you start fast and stay consistent.
Note
The space needs to be unlocked and active. You can’t save personal spaces as templates.
-
Open the space you want to save as a template.
-
Click the three-dot menu next to the space title in the sidebar 1.
-
Select Save as template 2 .
-
Alternatively, you can go to the Templates Gallery, click + Custom template, and select up to five spaces to save at once 3.
-
Enter a name and description for your template 4.
-
Click Save 5.
-
You’ll see a confirmation message, and your template will appear in the Gallery.
Note
When you save a space as a template, all content is included from the space, except for assignees, comments and references or links to other spaces. These are automatically removed when you save it as a template.
If account-level entities like custom fields, workflows, or custom item types are used in a Template, these aren’t copied when you create a new space from this Template, they are reused instead.
Templates copy the current space-level settings. Changes made to the original Space after saving won’t update the template. Assignees are not copied to new spaces created from a template.
-
Click the + icon in the upper right-hand corner of your workspace 1 and select Space from the dropdown 2 .
-
Click Create a space from a template 3.
-
Go to the My team’s templates category 4.
-
Select your template and preview the details 5.
-
Click Use template to launch your new space 6.
-
You can save any unlocked, active space (except personal or archived spaces) as a template if you’re a space admin.
-
Templates are stored in your account’s templates gallery. You can save up to five spaces into one Template.
-
If a template with the same name already exists, Wrike will add a number to the new template’s name.
-
Owners and admins can let regular users create templates by enabling the corresponding permission in User Type settings.
-
The Templates Gallery shows all available custom templates, along with the creator’s name.
