User License Upgrade Request

TL;DR

Users can request a license upgrade to gain additional capabilities, while account owners and admins can review requests, upgrade users, configure notification recipients, or disable upgrade requests entirely.

Overview

Users can request an upgrade to their license type, enabling them to create tasks and projects, assign work, set deadlines, and more.

How to Request a License Upgrade

Note

Collaborators are used as an example license.

  1. Click the Get Access 1 button in the sidebar.
  2. Alternatively, click the Learn How to Get Access 2 button in the banner above the description.

  3. In the popup window, click Request 3 to submit.

  4. A confirmation popup will appear, indicating your request has been submitted 4.

How to Manage Upgrade Requests and Notifications

When a user submits a request, the admin receives an email notification.

Admins can access user settings directly from the email by clicking the Approve 1 button or by going to Settings in the workspace.

How to Upgrade a User:

  1. Click your profile image in the sidebar 1.

  2. Select Settings 2 from the dropdown menu.
  3. Under Account Management, click Users 3.

  4. Navigate to user settings and click Edit settings 4.
  5. Locate the User type 5 section.

  6. Change the user type from Collaborator to Regular User, or whatever user type you’d like them to have 6.

  7. Click Save changes 7 to finalize the upgrade.

How to Disable Upgrade Requests

Only account owners can turn off the feature that allows users to request upgrades.

To turn off the functionality for placing upgrade requests:

  1. Click your profile image in the sidebar 1.

  2. Select Settings 2 from the dropdown menu.
  3. Go to Settings 3 under the Account Management section.

  4. Find the Member upgrade requests 4 section.
  5. Turn off the feature to prevent collaborators from placing upgrade requests 5.
  6. Click Save changes 6 to apply your preferences.

How to Manage Email Notifications

Only account owners can manage email notifications.

To manage notifications:

  1. Click your profile image in the sidebar 1.

  2. Select Settings 2 from the dropdown menu.

  3. Navigate to Settings under Account Management 3.
  4. Navigate to the Member upgrade requests section 4.
  5. Assign a specific admin to receive notifications 5.
  6. Click Save changes 6 to apply your preferences.
