Rescheduling Around a Specific Task in Request Forms
Space admins can manage request forms in their spaces. Account admins and owners can manage account-level request forms. On Enterprise accounts, this right can be revoked from account admins.
You can reschedule tasks or projects using a specific task as a reference point within a request form. This feature ensures that all related subitems and dependent tasks are automatically adjusted to align with the new schedule of the selected task.
Note
This feature works only if a date type question in your request form is mapped to a start or due date. The task, or the task blueprint used as the reference for rescheduling must be scheduled; otherwise, it will not appear in the task picker. It is also important to note that this feature works for forms using a blueprint or an existing task as a template, but not for custom item types, as item types cannot have subtasks.
-
Navigate to the request form you’d like to edit, or create a new request form.
-
In Response settings, select Create task from… or Create project from… 1 as per your requirement.
Note
You must select Create task from to enable existing tasks and task blueprints to be visible for selection. You must choose Create project from to enable existing projects and project blueprints to be visible for selection.
-
A search bar 2 appears. Search for, or select the relevant blueprint, task or, project.
-
Choose from the following options which are available under the Reschedule around section as per your requirement 3:
-
Earliest task's start date: The task/project will keep the same duration, but will start on the date selected in the corresponding question. All the subitems will be rescheduled accordingly.
-
Latest task's due date: The task/project will keep the same duration, but its due date will be set to the one selected in the corresponding question. All the subitems will be rescheduled accordingly.
-
Specific task’s start date: When the date is selected in the relevant question, the start date of the chosen task or subtask is updated accordingly. All related subitems and dependent tasks are automatically rescheduled to reflect the new date. The task/project will keep the same duration.
-
Specific task’s due date: When the date is selected in the relevant question, the due date of the chosen task or subtask is updated accordingly. All related subitems and dependent tasks are automatically rescheduled to reflect this new date. The task/project will keep the same duration.
-
Don't reschedule: Make the task dates identical to the scheduled dates in the original project, task, or blueprint.
