Overview

To determine the most suitable assignee for your task, project or custom item type, you can specify field values in work items to indicate required attributes for assignees. However, this method does not apply to folders.

Caution

Custom Fields will only appear in work items if you enable the Use as assignee requirement checkbox in Custom field settings. If this setting isn’t selected, custom fields will stay private in Users settings in Account Management, and you won’t be able to use them to get assignee recommendations.

  1. Open tasks in Item view.

  2. Navigate to More Fields to find user fields 1.

  3. Enter the necessary values into the user fields designated for assignee requirements 2.

  4. Use the assignee picker in your current Wrike view to receive suggestions for the best assignees 3.

Assignee Requirements in Item View

If needed, you can update custom fields in user profiles within the item view of task- and project-based items in the same way as any other custom fields. Any fields that are used in user profiles will have an additional icon so that you can differentiate them from custom fields that apply only to work items.

Here’s how you can update custom fields in Item view:

  1. Open Item view for any item.

  2. Click the More Fields button to access the available custom fields list 1.

  3. Select the custom field you wish to update and add values to define assignee requirements for that particular item. The values you add here will be used to search for people with matching attributes in their user profiles 2.
