Overview

All users, except for Collaborators, Contributors, and Viewers, can save folders and projects as blueprints.

When you save a project or folder as a blueprint, it becomes a reusable template of that project or folder. This is particularly useful when you have projects or tasks that repeat or share a common structure. Instead of creating new folders or projects from scratch each time, you can use the blueprint to create a new version of the same one.

By saving folders or projects as blueprints, teams can streamline their workflows, and maintain consistency in future work.

  1. Navigate to a relevant folder or project in the sidebar.

  2. Hover over the project or folder, click on the three-dot menu button or right-click the folder or project name in the left-hand navigation panel and select Save as blueprint 1 from the drop-down menu.

  3. Enter the name of the blueprint 2.

  4. (Optional) Enter a title prefix, which will be added as a prefix to the name of tasks, subprojects, and subfolders created using the blueprint 3.

  5. In the Save as section 4 the current space is automatically selected. You can change it to Account blueprint if you want to make the blueprint an account-level.

  6. Select the folder or project location where you want to save it 5.

    Note

If you don’t select a location, your blueprint will be saved at the top of the Blueprints section.

  7. Under What to copy check the box to the left of Tasks to include duplicates of all the folder or project's tasks and subtasks in a blueprint 6.

    • Customize how the tasks should be duplicated: with or without description, attachments, assignees, and custom field values.

    • Reschedule tasks. Leave the Reschedule box unchecked to make the task dates identical to scheduled dates in the original folder or project. Check this box to set the start date of the first task or due date of the last task in the folder or project. All other tasks will be rescheduled accordingly.

  8. Click Save 7.
