Conditional Launch of Tasks and Projects in Request Forms

Table 39. Availability - Legacy plans

Overview

Space admins can manage request forms in their spaces. Account admins and owners can manage account-level request forms. On Enterprise accounts, this right can be revoked from account admins.

You can create dynamic request forms that include different questions and change the attributes of the task or project they create based on the answers given.

Normally a request form is set to create or duplicate a task or project. By setting up this option a different task or project can be launched instead, depending on a Single answer or Importance option.

Launch conditional tasks and projects

  1. Navigate to the request form builder for the relevant form.

  2. Add a Single answer or Importance question.

  3. Add all the necessary response options.

  4. Click the branching icon Request_Forms-Branching_icon.png to the right of one of the options.

  5. Select Replace task or Replace project.

  6. In the pop-up that opens:

    • Select one of the tabs at the top to choose Task/Project type (replaces with a custom item type), Blueprints, or Existing tasks/projects.

    • Find the relevant item and click on it.

    Note

When you select the Replace option in a question within your form, the item that appears depends on the item type specified in the Create option of the form's settings.

    • If Task type is selected (Create Task/Create Task From): The system will suggest task items in the Replace option.

    • If Project type is selected (Create Project/Create Project From): The system will suggest project-type items in the Replace option.

Click the Add action button to add other conditional branching actions to the same answer option if necessary (i.e., creating an approval). When you’re finished making changes to your form, click Publish or Save.
