Table 45. Availability - Legacy plans

Overview

Wrike’s Outlook add-in is available for all users (including collaborators) on all account types (including Free).

Note

The Outlook add-in works with specific emails. Please check to make sure you have a compatible email before installing the add-in.

Use Wrike for Outlook to interact with Wrike directly from your inbox. The installation process you follow depends on whether you have Office 365 or Microsoft Exchange Server. We’ll help you install them below.

  • Outlook.com

  • Exchange Server 2013 or later (on-premise or hosted)

  • Outlook for Windows 2013 and 2016

  • Outlook for Mac 2016

  • Outlook on the Web

  • Outlook on iOS and Android

  • Outlook OWA for Exchange Server

Before you install

  • All user types (including сollaborators) on all account types can download and install the add-in.

  • The installation depends on a variety of factors (including which version of Outlook you’re using). The instructions on this page cover the most common cases, so please reach out if you have any questions.

  • If you don’t see the Store or Get add-ins buttons, then you likely have a non-Microsoft email provider. The Outlook add-in is only compatible with Microsoft email providers.

Which version to install

If you’re not sure which version of Outlook you have (Office 365 or on-premise), try to:

  1. Visit Microsoft AppSource and locate the Wrike for Outlook add-in.

  2. Click Get it Now.

If you get the message "Mailbox not found" or "We don't recognize this user ID or password," then you likely have an on-premise solution.

Install for on-premise or hosted exchange server

You need an Office 365 or Microsoft Live account to complete the installation. This can be any account, and doesn't need to be the email that you want to use the add-in with.

  1. Click the Get add-ins button in the application ribbon.

  2. Search Wrike for Outlook in the Office Store.

  3. Click Wrike for Outlook.

  4. Select Add.

  5. Follow the prompts to complete the installation. You'll need to authorize the add-in with any Office 365 or Microsoft Live account.

  6. You’ll see confirmation that the add-in was added.

Once installed, the add-in is available on any compatible version of Outlook that you open (as long as you’re logged in with the credentials for your Outlook on a local exchange server for which you install the add-in).

Install on a mobile device

  1. Open the Outlook app on your iOS or Android device.

  2. Click your avatar (if on iOS) or the hamburger icon (if on Android) in the upper left-hand corner.

  3. Click the gear icon to go to settings.

  4. Scroll down and select Add-ins.

  5. Locate Wrike in the list of available add-ins and click the + button next to the add-in to install it.

Once installed, the add-in appears in the menu for all the emails in your Outlook.

Installing from the manifest file

You can install Wrike for Outlook from the manifest file if for some reason the described above installation process didn't work for you.

To install Outlook add-in from manifest on both Mac and Windows:

  1. Download the manifest XML file (right-click the link and select Save as from the menu).

  2. Open the Outlook.

  3. Find and click the Get Add-ins button on the toolbar.

  4. In the window that opens switch to the My add-ins tab.

  5. Scroll down to the Custom Addins and click the +Add a custom add-in button.

  6. Select Add from File.

  7. In the window that opens select the manifest file you downloaded and click Install.

  8. After the installation is finished you can close the add-ins window and Wrike is added to the toolbar.
