Effort sum roll up /aggregation
Hi!
I remember a time when it was possible to see the effort sum on project level but also on the displayed tasks through roll up or aggregation in the fold out menu - e.g. if I just need to view the remaining total effort on active tasks without the interference of effort on done or cancelled tasks. Currently I'm shown total sum for the project including cancelled or deferred tasks even though these time-budget wise should not be relevant for the sum.
The option seems to have disappeared with lightspeed - is it on its way back or have I just completely overlooked the feature elsewhere? 🤔

I agree too!
I've to restore old table view today =(
Good suggestion Maria Hermansen
Hi folks, thank you for your feedback! We've shared an update on how the rollup currently works in the New Table View here. Also, we'll be soon announcing a call for our Community Ninjas (Black and Green belt holders, which means both of you 🙂) about the New Table View with our Product team where you'll be able to share your feedback directly, so please keep an eye out for the announcement in the Wrike Ninjas forum 👀

Hi Lisa also for something like that?
Hey Pietro Poli, sure, we'll be discussing rollups as well. Please find more info in this post 🙂

Lisa We miss the sum on effort also since Lightspeed was forced upon us. When will this be back? As I remember the promises was that new table view would be launched with all the old features. This seems not the case.
Hi Jacco Stam, thank you for your comment. You can now enable SUM effort in the New Table view:
Is this what you were looking for?
Hi @..., I think that is yet missing (SUM on folders and on parent tasks) like the old style table view (based on filters).
Agree with Pietro Poli - it'd be great if the sum would be of what you're currently looking at - e.g. "all active tasks", currently tasks from the status group cancelled/deferred also add up :)
Hi folks! You're right that the logic here is different from the old Table view. Our team is aware of this feedback, and we'll keep you posted on any future updates.

@... no this was not what I am looking for as Pietro already mentioned. The total effort is now only calculated for the total project. We want it to calculate for each subfolder and sub projects. So a big project can have multiple calculation levels like in the old table view.
Looking forward to the update
Thank you for your reply, Jacco Stam. I'm passing your feedback on to our Product Team 👍
We'll keep you updated in case there are any changes 🙂
Agreed with all the comments above. Removing this functionality from the new table view has caused quite a bit of headaches and the need for workarounds :(
Hi Amanda Juneau, thank you for adding your feedback here 👍 I've shared it with our dedicated team.
I've got the same problem. In doing so, this issue is even more dramatic when using the PowerBi connector. Then effort numbers are also double counted.
Hi Cees Bakker, thank you for brining this to our attention. May I ask if you have already discussed your case with our Support Team?
Is there any update on this? Effort no longer rolls up anywhere and it's become a massive issue from a capacity standpoint for us. We NEED to have effort rolling up in all table views/widgets/etc. Time Spent still rolls up - why does Effort not roll up?

Rohan V thank you for this workaround I pass it on to my colleague seems this is what we where missing since light speed. Should be great if it becomes a standard function again like it was before.
Rohan V That workaround just does not seem like a good fit. Having to move all of that data is one thing, but then to train my team that if they are making effort assignments and adjustments to make sure that they are using this Effort field instead of that Effort field is going to leave an immense amount of space for human error. It truly would be best to just have the roll-up back.
Hi everyone 👋 thank you for providing additional feedback and taking the time to share your use cases. We have recently launched Aggregation in Table View, which enables you to perform automatic calculations—such as totals or averages from subitems and display the results on the parent item (like a project or folder) in Table View. You can read the detailed post by clicking here. Please let us know your feedback. Thank you!

Rohan V we still miss the sum on effort as I commented in this post and the post you linked.

This is ridiculous. Listen to your customers and users. Please add the feature. Sum on effort is crucial.
Hi Eric Krona, thanks for sharing your honest feedback. I apologize for any frustration this may have caused. We don’t have any new updates to share at the moment. If anything changes, we’ll be sure to provide an update.
