Move/Undo Button for Folder tree
It is super annoying having to drag projects to different folders. Sometimes they drop into the wrong folder and it takes you forever to find where it went.
I think there should be a "Move" feature that shows the different folders you can place another project into without having to drag and drop it all over the place.
There should also be an "Undo" button in case you accidentally place something in the wrong folder so you don't have to spend 30 min trying to track down the project.
U can use cmnd+z (on Mac) to undo
@Alfred, thanks for sharing this idea! I understand how that would help in those cases. Just wanted to mention that an undo button does briefly pop up at the very bottom center of the Workspace, but I see how that can sometimes not allow enough time for corrections.
@Ilia, thank you for the comment! That does work for entering text in Wrike, but not for the use case described by Alfred. It would definitely be interesting if that could be implemented throughout the Workspace.
Hi Anastasia,
Per your email to me yesterday, I'm adding my request here as well. I really appreciate a few things:
Yes, an UNDO BUTTON would be greatly appreciated. As we built task, sometimes the keys accidentally delete text or full sentences and 'heck' (in my mind most times) I'm not fast enough to react to the undo button that I lost the oppty. I hate to use Microsoft as an example but to simply have that undo button on the top left side of Wrike would be GREAT! Thank you!
I lost a full task, I do not if it were moved or deleted... so Please, and Undo Button!!!
I think it would be a "nice to have" feature if we could right click on a project/folder and choose which archive folder (or any folder for that matter) to move it to instead of dragging the project/folder to the associated archive folder. We have several archive folders, and I have to open all of the folders within the archive before I can begin moving projects. I'm lucky if I drop it in the correct folder the first time. The dragging feature is frustrating, and it makes moving folders/projects to our archive folders a pain.
@Oscar, sorry to hear about that experience! Have you tried using the search bar to locate that task? Let me know how that went!
@Angela, thanks for sharing your insight! I wanted to mention that it's possible to add a Folder to another location by clicking on the "+" under its name in the Folder view. This allows you to find the required archive Folder with the help of search:
Our users find it difficult to use drag-and-drop for moving projects into our Archive folder. Clicking the plus only adds the item, but, does not move it and you can only move tasks not projects. A more specific process for archiving is needed. Let me know if I'm missing a tip/trick here...Thanks!
Hi Jim, thanks for posting! You can click the plus sign from a Folder/Project too, and then immediately remove the Folder/Project from the previous location by hovering over its name and clicking "x":
Does this help?
Agree that an undo button is needed. This is vital to amending and playing around with project plans. Not having one limits flexible use of Wrike.
I agree with the need for an undo button! As we figure out how to best use Wrike for our team, we tend to try out several organisational schemes. Undo would allow this quickly and efficiently, and would help our team switch to using Wrike far more easily.
Yes, we need an UNDO button, I waste time redoing things.
I agree!!! I am finding this is the most frustrating thing for those people who we are on-boarding. They are getting used to the platform and they accidentally delete things or click into items and it is starting to affect timelines and other things we have templated. It becomes very cumbersome as sometimes they don't know what the description of the task was before and they have to go to the STREAM to find what it was changed from
We end up playing with dates in the timeline view then forgetting where we started. Undo would be glorious.
Hi guys, thank you for your input on this request.
@Brittney, you're probably aware, but I just want to mention the Revision History option for the description section where you can restore and view the history of changes there. Let me know if I've misunderstood that part of your comment 👍
There is also a Save/Undo button post specifically around making changes in the Timeline View. Most members there want to make changes to the Timeline to see how the Project looks and then revert back to the original. It's something our Product Team are interested in. If you are too, please add your vote to the post, and feel free to follow for updates there 👍
Hi All,
I think the UNDO button is necessary in the table view to avoid wasting time in searching tasks that were wrongly dragged on other folders.
Thanks! 👍
This feature would be really helpful and necesary.
Last week I had a problem after ASIGN 350 task to someone by mistake. Fortunatelly it happens when I have just created a new project. If I do the same mistake in the middle of a project... I should spend hours changing the assignee...
Thanks
I also faced the same issue today and I saw this post where I see that there are comments added from 2017 for Undo button but still not implemented, still wondering why?
Hi Tushar Harrison, thank you for posting.
As outlined in this Community post, the Product team looks at a wide range of data, user feedback, and Community suggestions/votes to determine what next to work on. The team always aims to focus on implementing the functionality that will have the widest impact and benefit for the most users, and it's for this reason, that we can't implement all of the suggestions we receive via our various feedback channels. Since the vote count here is lower when compared to many requests on the Community, I'd also encourage anyone who is interested in this suggestion to continue to add their upvotes here. The more upvotes a suggestion has, the more our team understands how popular a request is.
Thank you for your support for this suggestion and as always we'll make sure to update you here if there are any changes.
Additionally, it's a confusing user experience when some actions (like deleting a task) make an undo button appear briefly, but for other actions as you're working on a project plan, there's no undo button to be found.
AL Welcome to the Community, and thank you for adding your support for this suggestion 👋
Please upvote the main post at the top also if you haven't yet. Once it reaches 60 upvotes, we'll add one of the Product statuses here. You can see what these statuses are and how we work with feedback in general in this post.
And of course, let me know if there's anything else I can help you with 🙂
