[Status: Not planned] Request Forms: Formatting

I would like to be able to apply basic formatting to the request form descriptions and questions. For example: bold/italic text, bullets, hyperlinks, paragraph spacing (ability to "enter" & start sentence on a new line, and add blank lines in between lines of text).

Thank you for the suggestion, Megan! This can be a very interesting addition to Request Forms. It would be great to hear how would you like it to look: similar to how Description field looks in Wrike or differently? We would love to hear your opinion! :)

If it looked something like this feedback page comment box that would be perfect.

Add me to the list.

I'd like the option to add hyperlinks to the questions. For example, if a requester needs digital ads, they can download a PDF of all of the creative specs for each digital channel.

Fairly new to Wrike, but I think it would be great to be able to hyperlink within the request form directly to our own drives, as sensitive things can be accessed fairly securely. (#507793

Hi Anna, we don't have an update to share at the moment, but if something changes we'll be sure to post here.

I agree that this would be a great feature. I updated a form description just yesterday and it would be super helpful to be able to add formatting (bold, underline, etc.)

I think basic markup support for Bold etc, bullet lists, hyperlinks would be simple to add for your devs!

I agree,

We have checklists that we need to be ticked off when a team member completes a task. Being able to add formatted blocks of text like this would be very useful. I agree simple markdown would be great.

We would definitely like this at our company. Until it is implemented, I have found some workarounds that might present a workable visual experience for Wrike form users.

It appears that Wrike request forms (and lots of text entry fields scattered about the interfaces) support Unicode characters. By using a Unicode converter or by manually entering the codes, one can often achieve the visual effect of formatting such as bullets•‣◦, 𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐝, 𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘴, and many special characters like ° (degrees) or 📧 (Email icon). Your mileage may vary with underlined and strikethrough Unicode characters.

And while the question text appears to disallow new lines, the helper text seems to allow them (pressing the "Enter" key works for me at least).

It is awkward to go through this manual process every time, so we are still looking forward to expanded and streamlined formatting options for Wrike form questions, descriptions/helper text, section headings, page headings, and answer choices.

There are plenty of ways to generate the Unicode equivalents of formatting and paste them into the Wrike text boxes. There are probably lots of interesting emoji and symbol combinations to explore when naming folders and tasks to give them some distinctive flair, in addition to formatting helper text descriptions of Wrike form questions.

One of my preferred converters for strings of text into different Unicode formats is:

https://yaytext.com/bold-italic/

For finding individual Unicode characters with a text search:

https://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/char/search.htm

and for finding characters that I can draw, but don't know how to describe:

http://shapecatcher.com/

Handy for finding lookalike characters i.e.:

like a T but sideways, a lock, that letter with an accent but it's backwards, or a letter with those 2 dots over it, what was that called?

⊢, 🔒, è, ä

(right tack, Lock, grave accent, diaeresis)

This would benefit our company as well.  Having the formatting at Megan noted above would be very beneficial.  Especially, being able to have the option to add hyperlinks to the questions or be an option within the helper text field.  Our example would be to have the hyperlink go out to a report for the user to view.

Links would be highly useful. This was first requested in February 2017............any updates? I'm not a product developer so forgive me if I'm missing something here, but it doesn't seem like adding the ability to do basic formatting within forms such as bold, italics, bullets and hyperlinks would take more than a week to accomplish with a full product development team (if that!)

1. We need the ability to place Terms of Service and Privacy Policy hyperlinks in the footer of every page of forms (vs. sections with the hyperlink displayed in larger font).

1b. We also need this inside Wrike, in any data collection area. (Some policies will require links to be visible to users as they enter data.) (Again, a user might expect to see this in the footer of the Desktop experience - not sure the best place in the mobile experience).

2. I would also like to create pages in my forms to display and allow users to view the policies and scroll them before pressing submit. (Not yet possible).

These are required by customers to be compliant with GDPR (to gain informed consent / agreement by users to store their data).

Note: Please tag categorize this as a GDPR / user permission compliance request (not only a form page / hyperlink formatting request).

Thanks!  Renee

Could we have this at least in the Description field, for now? (the Task Description Field already functions this way..) Thanks!

My team uses Wrike, and we would definitely like to see all of the standard formatting options added to Request Forms--including the ability to place a hyperlink in the form. Also, we would like to be able to attach an image and a document to a request form. Thank you!
