Future of Wrike's AI - Your Ideas Needed! 🤖

Hi everyone!

My name is Igor, I’m a Product Manager at Wrike, responsible for our Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions.

First of all, I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who’s been testing our latest feature, AI Subtask creation, first in beta, and then as a Wrike Labs release. The feedback and ideas I’ve received from you have been insightful and super useful for future planning.

Now, to our future planning. My team and I are thinking about the next steps, and which exciting features to introduce to our AI family. We already have some ideas, but we would really like to hear from you! We would like to concentrate on functionality that will impact the most users and use cases, of course, but seeing how engaged the audience here is, and how helpful you are with ideas and testing, I’d first like to talk to you.

In the comments section here, please let me know about some of the repetitive things you do in Wrike manually that we could automate with AI. An example to help you understand the sort of things we can potentially do: a request form auto-filling system based on previously filled-in data.

I can’t wait to hear your ideas and feedback! Thank you again for your help with inspiration and testing!

I just posted in community about this! What a coincidence!

Hi Igor, it would be great if Wrike AI could monitor repeating actions and offer to automate them. For example, I have to manually set Project Progress in every single project I create, and I create hundreds of projects annually, all based on blueprints.

Very long explanation:

Our workflow monitoring relies heavily on the Project Progress percentage. While we can check the Project Progress in blueprints, those settings are lost when actually creating a project based on the blueprint. Since I'm the project owner in the blueprints (until  during project creation, our custom automation changes that to the name mentioned in a custom field) I get a notification in my inbox about new projects when a project is created, and I rely on that in order to click through the new projects and manually set their Project Progress options. (And yes, I have read the instructions on how to enable Project Progress for all projects in a space in table view (via the Progress column header), but that's AFAIK a one-shot action for projects existing at that exact moment, and won't have any effect on upcoming projects. And the "enable Project Progress for all projects in a space in table view via the Progress column header" action only turns on an (in our case) unwanted progress option ("Tasks and duration average") when we want the progress option "Completed tasks". The reason being that half of our projects involve printing and logistics tasks, which have durations of months (rather than days) and thus skew the result of what "Tasks and duration average" displays. We need to use the plain vanilla "Completed tasks" arithmetic instead.)

So I'm thinking, what if Wrike AI could notice that I just opened (say) 20 new projects in a row and only performed one action on each (manually set the Project Progress option to "Completed tasks") and offered to take care of that for the following new projects.

When filling out a request form, it would be great if some of the fields could be auto populated based on certain entered information. Such as auto populating the contact information based on the customer.

Another repetitive item that comes from the request form, when adding an attachment, it could automatically add it to other tasks that are listed within the project that's created.

Agree on the Project Progress - this is tedious to do, as Tuomo mentions above!  Having this turned on by default - or recognizing the project lives in a folder/space location where all other project progress is enabled for other projects that it should turn on - and it should turn on to the same configuration (ie completed tasks, or duration etc).

I also think this should be applied to Project Roll Up dates as well - if other projects have roll up dates in the same folder, it should do the same automatically

I manage and monitor New account requests via request form, I set up an automation rule - because every time I change the status - to "Completed" for example - I want to send a notification to the requestor that the request has been fulfilled. So along those lines - for this specific example, the Automation rules are enough to satisfy the need, but it got me thinking about other use cases for the way teams interact with task - for example - if I have a designer working on a task and they upload the file/deliverable and/or use an @mention - a nice automation might be to trigger a workflow change - either by prompt (to confirm the status should change) or a trigger to @mention a team member (ie Author of the task) after completing the activity.

Love the subtask AI - I think that is fantastic too!

I have to ditto the above! If the blueprint is set for completed task or another, then the project created should mimic the blueprint which is the purpose of a blueprint. I also would love to select "Team 1" and it populated my custom fields with certain information.

I signed up for the subtask AI and saw it in action today. Looking forward to trying it out.

I know this is pretty similar to what you already have, but it would be good to have the AI subtask creation on custom item types. I'm not sure if you could also have it create subtasks of a custom item type, but it could be a nice feature to have!

AI could also be helpful to recognize tasks that you worked on and automatically propose them in your timesheet. Despite the fact that you are not planned for this tasks in that particular week. In our company it often happens that you work on tasks that are hard to plan.

I'd love to see AI in project/task prioritization based on a combination project importance & due date.

We have a need to separate the AI users from the non-AI users. Since ENABLE will allow all users access, is it possible to create a category in the access roles called AI so it can be available for some and not others with a simple checkmark?
