[Status: Backburner⏳ ] Custom Field in Timelog Report

I'm loving the timelog reporting feature. It solves so many problems for me! One small suggestion I have is to allow adding the custom fields into the report, like your other reports (using the sprocket/settings icon). For example, we have a custom field for allocated hours. I would like to see how the time spent compares to the hours that were allocated.

Hi everyone! I've just checked with the team, and this suggestion still has the Coming Soon status, which means the idea is definitely planned for development. The team has researched all the feedback that you'd kindly provided here, and it was taken on board. The amount of feedback and upvotes on this thread clearly indicates the need here, so thank you for sharing your use-cases and for your votes 🙌The ETA is not available yet, but once the team begins the development, we'll be changing the status to "In the making". Not that it needs to be said again, but adding in that this functionality is so crucial... It is already available in all other reporting modules, seems like it should just be the standard at this point.

Hi Lisa, some months ago I followed up w/Wrike representatives regarding the timeline for this item and I have been told that it is NOT "coming soon" or on the product timeline. Would you mind clarifying please?

Happy to see that this is comming soon. We really could use that to. We have a custom field for each task with Cost Centre. Then we can easily filter the hours by cost centre. Hope it comes soon 😃

Jochen Simoens Yes, this feature has been "in consideration" for over 3 years, so at this point I'm assuming it's not a priority for them.

Hi everyone! Here's an update from the team - this is still planned for development and the team wants to address this in 2021. Because it is planned to be implemented, the Community status remains "Coming Soon". ETA is not yet available by this point, but hopefully, we might be able to provide it by the end of 2020.

Our Product team knows how popular this request is for you, our Community members. They have been keeping this suggestion on their radar for some time now as they understand how useful this functionality would be.
 
However, as the team progressed with the work on this, it became apparent that the roll-out of this functionality would have to be postponed due to technical blockers they encountered at the beginning of their work on it. It turned out that the ask is a lot more technically challenging than it appeared during the research stage.
 
We completely understand that this will come as disappointing news, and we'd like to again apologize for any confusion caused by the status of this suggestion.
 
The team understands the need here and they hope to implement this functionality at a later stage when these blockers can be addressed. For now, we will need to update the status here to "Backburner" to make sure the current standing of the request is reflected here.

We recently implemented time tracking. Without duplicating efforts and adding in custom data twice, we are missing quite a bit of information if we can't also report on custom fields alongside the time. We look forward to hearing updates on this request soon!

We also have a dire need for custom field columns in the time entries reports. I hope this is coming very soon. The alternative is to extract information through the Wrike API and compile reports in a custom application which is quite inconvenient to maintain.

My name is Alina and I'm a Product Manager here at Wrike.
 
I wanted to share an update after further researching the possibility of adding custom fields to Timelog Reports. For now, we'll be adding the status 'Backburner' here, as there are no plans to implement this currently. I know how important this improvement is to you, and I know that this will come as disappointing news, so please allow me to share some more detail on this.
 
At the moment, we are working on improvements to our core functionality as well as some exciting updates for Wrike. Our priorities for 2022 include highly anticipated improvements in automation, Work Templates, New Table View, and the development of other new features, which we know are much requested and will be of great benefit to users. More to come on all of this! This does mean, however, that for now, we will be adding this idea to our backlog for the time being as we focus on these priorities.
 
We do understand the importance of this request for all of the users who have voted and shared their feedback here and we hope to be able to revisit this idea in the future, so thank you for your continued support and the insights shared in relation to this.
 
Please keep an eye on the Community's Betas and More forum to receive early news of our potential releases and open betas. The Community Team will be sharing any relevant updates about Custom Fields in Timelog Reports also on this thread.

I find this highly disappointing and a recurring Wrike theme. Threads like this and others have been open for 5+ years and yet still no further in implementing them.

To say this is on the back burner whilst developing new features doesn't sit right with me. Would it not be better to work on what users are up voting for, as so far I see this as a pointless exercise.

I understand that if some suggestion is of particular interest and need to you, you'd be disappointed that it's not available and not planned by the team. That's why I wanted to share a bit more detail on how we work with your feedback here. We do provide this space for Wrike users to share their feedback and vote on suggestions. We have an established process of sending this feedback to our Product team, along with stats and analytics. I'd suggest checking out more info on the process here.

Unfortunately, due to various reasons like priorities, other planned enhancements, and others, the Product team can't commit to working on all or even the majority of the suggestions we receive here on this forum. At the same time, the team does receive all feedback and it may influence the team's decisions for the future roadmap. Just to give you an example, here's a list of Community product suggestions that have been implemented or worked on in 2021.

Please rest assured that your feedback does reach the team and even if they can't yet act on it, it's still one of the important factors for future planning.

This gets really frustrating. Without the feature, we don't get the right report data out for our internal reporting, as we'd need the custom field information.

Without this we need to keep our external time tracking tool which does not provide the desired granularity we'd would need to validate our estimates and improve our project/task planning.

This then also prevent us in efficient use of wrike Ressource planning / Time Tracking.

I know it looks like a small feature, but for quite some user this can have a high impact...
