[Status: Investigating 🕵️‍♀️] Due date-time

I want to be able to define a due time for tasks, not just due date. There are specific , time sensitive, tasks that need to be delivered on a specific time during the day. At the moment we need to enter this information at the task title which is not ideal.

Also using the "duration" doesn't work because the team then needs to agree on a convention i.e. 4 hours of duration means 1pm . And what about 9pm? How would we indicate that?

I'm sorry to hear that William Hopkins-Trumm! Please let me know if you'd like me to arrange a call with your Account Manager - they might be able to advise you. In regards to this suggestion, unfortunately, I don't have an update from the team and the status hasn't changed.

William Hopkins-Trumm What will you do with all the data and history you have in Wrike? It does not export into any usable database.  Lisa What does happen to someone's data when they leave? If the ability to convert the entire account data into a CSV or something is not an option, and the backup format is unusable, what do customers do? There is so much history and information within the Wrike database for any company using it.

Hi 1Marjorie Downey,

This is an excellent question you've asked, thank you!

All of the data within your Wrike account will remain safe and secure on our servers until you delete the account. So even if you don't renew your subscription, all of your data remains right where you left it and will be accessible again once you reactivate your subscription or downgrade to our Free plan.

With regards to downgrading to our Free plan, none of your Wrike data is lost, but some of it may be inaccessible in the Free plan due to certain features being only available on paid subscriptions.

There are also several features which you can use to save your Wrike data outside of Wrike. For example, you can export your spaces, projects, folders, and tasks to Excel (https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037345013-Export-Data-to-Excel). This will provide you a readable file that shows the folder tree structure, the workflows and statuses of your tasks, start and due dates, assignees, descriptions, custom field data, and more. Please note that file attachments cannot be exported to Excel.

Using our Account Backup feature (https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/articles/209605749-Account-Backup), you can save all of your Wrike account's data including file attachments. The data is backed up in JSON format, which isn't made for human eyes, but can be read using additional software.

And even if you choose to export your data to Excel or use our Account Backup feature, all of your data will still remain secure within Wrike until you choose to delete it, whether or not you have an active subscription with us.

I hope you found this information helpful. Please let us know if you have any questions 😄

Have a productive day!

Lisa would you be able to check with your dev team if it is possible to add a "due time" field that isn't necessarily related to the due date, meaning that even if a task's due time is 1pm on 12/17, it won't show as overdue until 12:00am on 12/18. I'm assuming the challenge with adding the due time is due to its relation to the due date, so I'm wondering if decoupling them would make it easier for your dev team to add it as an independent field. This would at the very least allow for the due time to be visible on "my to-do" and other areas where due time is a critical component. Looking forward to your feedback. Thanks!

Welcome to the Community, Ricardo Ludtke, and thank you for posting your feedback! As far as I know (and I check regularly), the team doesn't have plans for adding time-related fields either. I'll pass on your feedback anyway though, and if I have an update from them, I'll make sure to let you know!

In order for more members of my organization to use Wrike, we really need this feature implemented since we're using Wrike to start centralizing our events and programs calendars - which have everything to do with time! Right now, we have custom fields for start/end times built using text, but then when we do an export, we have to then manually convert all those text fields over to time values in order to filter/order these events and programs correctly when presented in reports. Could really use this function for both start time and end/due time!

Hey there - I would like to also add my support for this development. Beyond the applications listed in the comments here, I would like to use functionality to create a calendar with time blocking. Time management is one of the most basic building blocks of product management, and right now there's no way for me to effectively manage time for myself or my team in Wrike.

Why is it that a feature request, that is 4 years old and has many, many users requesting it, is still not even on the roadmap?

ClickUp has it and is less expensive than this service.

Having this feature would be so helpful to our team. It would mean I could cut an entire other program out of our workflow & just rely on Wrike alone. I can't emphasize enough how much this feature is needed.

Is there any update on this? For being a self-proclaimed "industry leader" it seems crazy that there's no "due time" and that this request has been ignored for over 4 years now

Currently my company is managing its workflow differently in all departments. I am trying my best to sell streamlining with Wrike. I can't sell it without this feature. When will we see it?

Major Upvote to this one!

My team and company are looking at other products due to the lack of time based deadlines and tasks. I understand based off of previous feedback that this is a rather large undertaking for the dev. team, but it looks to me like this would be a nonstarter for most modern companies choosing their software solutions as well as a general relevance issue and therefore should be a TOP priority for the dev team. It may take time for those of us currently using Wrike to jump ship without this feature, but it is certainly losing you potential customers and eventually market share.

😕

"Time due date" with email notification to the task´s assigned person is a much needed functionality for us to be able to use Wrike both as a "daily task" tool (with time due date) combined with mid-longterm strategic planning of activities in a 3-6 (6-12) month perspective. I can only use this tool effectively if we get this functionality. So today it´s kind of either or, or almost useless for me.

Hello everyone!

We have news to share in relation to this suggestion - the team is currently researching potential approaches for making time indication in Wrike easier for you and we've therefore updated the status here to 'Investigating'.

As we mentioned previously, implementing due time in tasks is a significant feature design and implementation effort. We, therefore, don't have more detail to share with you at the moment, but we will be investigating approaches that may address many of the use cases mentioned here. The good news is that the research has been initiated and we will definitely have a discussion with some of you on this functionality and what might work best for you once we have more information.

Please note that it's not confirmed that the suggestion will be added to the Product roadmap yet, but the team will be investigating and researching with a view to this - we'll let you know how this progresses.

A huge thank you to everyone here for your continuous support on the Community for due time indication in Wrike. We'll be sharing more detail with you here in the coming weeks.
