Filter by folder and project in list view

When viewing tasks under list view it would be helpful to be able to filter by project or folder.

Yes.  Thank you for adding Project Filtering to the table view.  Pease add it to the list view as well.

When presenting a project portfolio I frequently want to filter out the completed ones.  Wrike needs to keep in mind that Wrike is used to manage project portfolios, not just individual projects; the portfolio management tools need to be just as robust as the  project tools.

Also, when filtering options are different based on view, that confuses people and adds to the already steep learning curve laypeople experience with Wrike.

Need project filtering at the list level. We initially setup our team's workload by folders with projects underneath them. List view is the best way to see what existing projects still need to be done, but there is no way to filter out already completed projects so list view is a mess. I understand that I can create a dashboard for myself, but for the team's benefit there should really be a built-in way to filter out inactive/completed projects. Seems really odd that this is not in place.

I support this request as well!!

Use case: We create a project for each trade show we attend and we use the List view to quickly see our upcoming events. I know we can use the Table view to filter by Project, but the layout and amount of info shown is distracting and just not user-friendly for what we're trying to achieve. We could create a "Completed" folder and move our "Done" events there, but that would add an extra manual step to our process which we want to avoid.

I know I've said this before, but as a user, I expect to see the same filtering functionality across the entire platform. When it doesn't work the same way it's confusing and leads me to believe it's bugs causing the issue!

If filters are already applied it would be logical for me when it works in every mode the same. If some projects are there in one mode and hidden in another - with the same settings – this sounds quiet confusing for me as a user. Please make it the same on every level. If i check "hidden" it should be hidden in list view as well (i event see the setting in list view but it's not applied - very confusing).

I second Christoph Busch request.  Wrike, please don't restrict functionality based on view.  It is always best to allow your users to be able to filter whatever data they want in any view that works best for them.  Wrike Support told me that the restrictions are "by design" to which I replied that that much was obvious but that I couldn't understand the reasoning behind said "design", and that I'm not sure there is sound reasoning behind this.

I really agree, it would great not to see completed projects in list view. Please add a filter for active. Thank you!

Nils Troll I doubt it since the List view is going to be deprecated and its functionality will be merged with Table view later this year. https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/14191308922775--From-Wrike-List-View-Users-Your-Feedback-Needed-

Hi Nils Troll! As Daisy Hibbard correctly points out, the Product Team is focused on improving the New Table View, which already includes the option to clearly see the project where every task is located.

You can learn more details about the New Table View in this article. If you have any additional questions, please let us know 👍

+100000! Thank you for having made this suggestion (back in 2018, yikes!).

I was going to create a post for this, but it's unsurprising that it's been already been suggested -  Jason Shechter has been reading all our minds.

I'm happy that we can filter by project and by task in Table view, but we absolutely need this in List view. Often times in a single location, we'll have a mix of projects and tasks at the same level. We need to be able to filter through them instead of:

  • Only being able to filter on tasks and having to scroll past all projects/folders to see the filtered tasks
  • Having to scroll through each project/folder that we are trying to narrow down on in a slew of other items

This also impacts the Recycle Bin and how we can only view it in List view. I made a post about this today as with all the deletions that have accumulated, we can't zero in on a specific deleted project/folder.

Hi Anna Giacobbe 👋 Thank you again for posting.

The List View will be phased out soon, and we recommend using the Table View, which includes the features of the List View. We do not have an exact timeline for this transition, and as a result, we will not be implementing any new changes to the List View.

Rohan V Can you please advise on how we can get table views to not show subtasks twice?  They appear both in the 'root' of the table (without any indent) and then again indented under their parent task (see below image, where coloured boxes show subtasks displaying twice in the table view).

This appears to contradict your statement that the "table view will include the features of the list", and is the primary reason we use list view throughout our organisation.  Could you also provide us with the rationale for phasing out the list view?  If this is something your customers want and use, why get rid of it?
