Pinned Tasks/Projects/Folders

Would love to be able to pin some of the projects/tasks/folders I'm regularly involved in to the top of the sidebar for easier access, instead of having to navigate through all the different folders they're nested in.

Hmmm I already do this with my projects. When you hover over a task in the left side tool bar, a star doesn't appear?

@Bryan, I'd never noticed that. Thanks for the tip!

hi there - do you know if we can pin a task in a project so it appears at the top of the project for everyone involved in the project. The idea is that i want a specific task to be visible straight away to all project users, especially when there are a lot of tasks within the project. Thanks

@Chourouk I don't know if there is a way to star something for another user, but I use the "!" to the left of the task/project name to emphasize it. Hopefully someone else can say if starring something for other users is possible.

If it isn't you could request it to become a product feature.

@chourouk I don't believe so, no 😩

You CAN sort by status, importance title, priority, and date so you could potentially game those to make the tasks appear in the order you wish (e.g. only designate one task as higher importance)

@Chourouk Hi there! Would the Project info panel work? It's not a task, but located on the Project itself (it's the view that opens when you click on a Project). If not then sorting by priority might be a good option. When you sort by priority you can drag and drop tasks to arrange them into the order they should be in. Anyone who sorts by priority then sees tasks in the same order. Let me know what you think of those options!

thank you all - unfortunately i need to keep the tasks view by deadline rather than priority as it gives us a timeline of all upcoming projects we work on and is the default view all users have in my team. @stephanie @nathaniel

as for your idea @bryan, it's already something i flagged as important but there are so many tasks in this project they can't view it unless they scroll down completely.

thank you all for your help.

Sadly the ability to see your pinned items in the top of the left sidebar has been removed in the "New Experience".  This is a very important part of my workflow and folder/task organization system.  Thus I'm I have elected to stay on the "Old Experience".  Someone please tell me if I'm missing a feature/toggle somewhere to turn this on.

Hello Tim Batt, we've recently updated the Hamburger Menu allowing the pinned items to be available in the Hamburger menu. This section can be collapsed and expanded by clicking on the title 'Pinned'. You can find out more about the new updates in this Community article and our Help Center.

Please let me know if this is still not working, I'll be happy to raise a ticket for you.
