Custom Item Type Excel Import
Hi
I want to import several project over Excel import. These porject have to a specific Costum Item Type (CIT). I have no possibility to link the excel to the CIT. Is there any workflow for that or can you please add this function?
Hi Lukas Flatz, thank you for the feedback, this is not possible for now but I'm passing on your feedback to the team.
CIT import would save a lot of time for organizations transferring to Wrike and/or dealing with many new tasks daily.
I could add custom status, workflow, and custom fields to the Excel import file.
My problem is that imported custom fields will only show when Item Type is changed manually, which is a buzzkill.

I'm upvoting this - it would be very helpful for out team to be able to import CITs directly rather than importing as generic tasks and changing the item type after import.

Lisa It seems like not all users can change the item type of a task. When Wrike users import from Excel, items are tasks, but we want them to be able to change the item type to the CIT that they need. I wasn't able to find something in access roles for that. Could you point me in the right direction?
Hi Anna Schild, here it is in Access Roles, at the very bottom:

UPVOTE! Put this one up on your list Wrike. Excel is a great way to more easily setup blueprint templates of standard project, even though our project have a standard structure to them, there is so many customizations that are made to each project separately during its setup. So right now you can only duplicate or create from a blueprint, but then we have to go through and manually update everything (set new dates for milestones/tasks/project, change names of project/tasks/folders to reflect the new project, change custom fields individually for each project/tasks, etc...), it is a extremely time consuming process. However in excel we can make mass edits and create macros to make the process much more automated and faster, to import into Wrike for the initial project setup. Not having CIT's be a part of the importing process, makes using excel importing for us in this way completely pointless, as now you would have to go in and still convert every task and project to the correct item type you want (this is the only way to make sure each shows the correct custom fields, and that already setup automation for CIT's work correctly). This original request is almost 2 years old, is there at least a way to see what requests are at the top of the development teams list, so we all know where our wants/needs/requests stand?

This would be incredibly helpful! Upvoted
Especially as Wrike increases it's user base and expands capabilities (such as the Dashboards) - These custom item types are being used much more frequently by companies to assist with reporting. Being able to use Excel to import CITs and the custom field data would be incredibly helpful.
