Allocation of workload effort to job roles

When I am initially setting up a project I work out the WBS to define the tasks and then I estimate the effort required for each job role.  Managing resources across multiple projects should be done at the job role level - not the individual resource level.  Later on if the project gets approved the job roles are then assigned to a team member for implementation.  At present job roles seem to have evolved from groups.  Instead a job role should be treated as a proxy for an actual resource and as such should be allocated workload estimates.

Yes, this is exactly what we're trying to do as well!  If we decide to prioritize a project request from our backlog and schedule it 4 months out, I want to be able to account for the capacity use of our team for that work even if we don't know which person would be assigned to take it on.

@..., does Wrike have any support resources or guidance about how to effectively use Bookings with Job Roles to visualize the projected effort that is both utilized and available for a particular job role?

Since Job roles can be applied to any number of people, it would seem to follow that the sum capacity for a job role would be based on the schedule and working hours of all people belonging to that job role. I'm able to set up a Workload Report that groups the users by their job role, but the report will only factor in the effort of tasks and bookings that have been assigned directly to a specific person, not a job role.
