Assign author via automations

Hello! I am creating a blueprint for post-event tasks and have created an automation where the tasks flow into the project 5 days prior to the event date. The blueprints are assigned to a "general" assignee group, ex. Field Marketing, Digital, etc. and I am looking to assign the project request author when these blueprints flow in. Via automation, assigning "item author" doesn't seem to be working. 

Does anyone have a workaround or is there a different way I can do so? Thank you!

I'm not sure how the tasks are created.
Does anyone physically create the tasks from the blueprint?
Do you have a screenshot of your automation?

Hey, Suzanne Silvers 👋

One way I can think of right now is to create a custom field to capture the request author’s name or email when the blueprint tasks are created. Then, manually assign the task to the person indicated in that custom field. I understand this might not be the ideal solution as it's not automated. Hi Rohan V! We are trying to avoid manually having to input the author in the blueprint because it's not the same person every time - it depends what field team members cover which areas. We are hoping for a non-manual way for the author of the request submission to be assigned to every task in the blueprint.
