Request Forms & Blueprint Integration
Has anyone figured out a good way to set the start date of tasks in a blueprint based off the submission date of a request form?
Example: a request form is submitted today (2/25/2025) and I have it set to automatically create a project from a specific Blueprint ("Requested Project Blueprint") which already has certain dates applied to each task. The first task in the Requested Project Blueprint is assigned to me and I'd like the date to automatically populate as the date the form was submitted.
Typically, when creating a project from a Blueprint you can set the start date for the first task and that will update all the dates based off their durations and predecessors. However, when creating a project automatically from a Request Form, it pulls the existing obsolete dates from the Blueprint which are often dates in the past. I tried playing around with some automations but couldn't find a workaround. If anyone currently does this I'd love some help, thanks!
Hi Andrew Parrish,

you need to insert in form a date field and add it like Start Date
Then in the left column of the form creator you need to setup the Reschedule around:

take note about ? info
In this way when you submit form, blueprint will be created starting on the date you've insered in Start Date field.
Hi Andrew,
are you sure that all dependencies are set up correctly in the blueprint? If so, all dependent tasks should adjust automatically as you expect if the kickoff date is set by the request form.

Thank you, Pietro and Florian, for the quick responses! I had tried the Reschedule Around feature and it didn't work so I started looking at automations. But I've gone back and tried it again and everything is working right so I must have done something wrong. Thanks for the help!
