Dynamic Field Lists - Populate a Form Field Based on Data Contained within a Custom Field

We have requesters submit tasks that align with a database of suppliers.  Many systems allow for a dynamic field list, where as a requester types in a supplier name, the field dynamic populations with options based on what is in the database (this could be a custom field or possibly a folder list).  This allows for the reduction or even elimination of duplicate entries where a supplier is added and potentially misspelled or in some way written differently.  It also could allow for automation to tell the form to file a new task or project into a specific folder.

I do not believe this is a feature within Wrike today, but I'd like to confirm?  If not, has there been consideration to develop this type of functionality?

Hi Chris Cashon 👋

Thanks for posting. As you might know, there is currently no direct feature to natively support the dynamic population of fields based on database entries directly within request forms.

However, I'am sharing a couple of workarounds below:

  • You can create custom fields with predefined dropdown options. While this doesn't dynamically populate as you type, it can help standardize entries and reduce errors.

  • Utilize our Link to Database fields for single or multiple select options. This feature enables respondents to pick from predefined entries in your database, promoting data consistency and easing data management. Please click here to read our detailed Help Centre article.

Rohan, I appreciate the suggestions.  Unfortunately, Link to Database won't work because this form has to be public facing.  The vast majority of our requests across our company come from non-users.
