Subtasks appear in Table View twice - this is a problem

We have many instances of subtasks appearing in Table view twice - this is confusing and inefficient.  In the below example, there are two subtasks ("Complete test cases for current milestone" and "Lock Down Test Cases") that appear under the parent task "Run test cases for current milestone" but also appear as their own tasks above that parent task. They are the same tasks, not duplicates. The reason they are appearing as their own tasks (not only as subtasks to the parent task) is because in our blueprint the subtasks are "in" the folder.  I recommend that this logic should be re-worked so we're not seeing double in the Table View.

This is happening to us as well.   It creates many of the subtasks as tasks in addition to keeping the subtasks.   The task is the duplicate.  You can drag the duplicates back under the real task or subtask, where it belongs, and the duplicate at the top level goes away (so there is only one even as subtasks) .  I have "fixed" the Blueprints, and the blueprints look clean in table view.  but when we use that blueprint to create a project, we get 30-40 duplicates again.   It's too much work to do this on every project and we're to the point where we can't use Table view at all.

Would love to have a fix for this!

Hi Jennifer Ebaugh, thanks for reaching out! 🙂

Thanks for sharing your use case, I've asked our tech Support to look into it just incase they can recommend a solution.

I ran into this same issue when creating a task from the API. I'm evaluating Wrike for a client and we're frequently going to be pushing a dozen or more subtasks at a time. So this issue has me a little worried.

At first I thought it was duplicating the task but it's actually the same one displayed both beneath the intnded superTask but also in the main view. I confirmed - I'm only submitting once and this only happens for sub-tasks.

My posted params look something like this - note the single item list of SuperTasks:

%{
"title"=> "Main House,
"customItemTypeId"=> type_id,
"superTasks"=> [wrike_parent_id]
}

Result:  - notice my House appears twice (they both have the same ID / are the same record)?

It would never have occurred to me to drag that item back into it's parent (as suggested above) and that did "fix" the problem.

Is there any movement on this issue - very much a front-burner problem for us right now.

Thank you!

[UPDATE]: I got a response from one of the support engineers - in my case I just needed to specify the Root folder for all subtasks. Viola, no more duplicate tasks.
