Create a custom item type that contains already named subitems

I think this is probably a fairly common use case, I just am not sure how to do it.  We repeatedly set up tasks to produce the same creative assets (emails, etc.). They always contain the same set of subitems. When creating the task, I would like to allow users to select, for instance, "email" instead of task from the menu and have the subitems already populated when it is created. I tried this with a custom item type, but I don't see any way to actually add the named subitems (only the subitem types.)

I am able to do this with a blueprint connected to a request form, but I want to know if it can be done by selecting the task from the menu.

Thanks.

Hi Susan Hupka,

you can achieve your goal by using automations.

You can trigger new task creation (with a specific Custom Item Type) and the create one or more subitem inside:
