Tasks only custom fields

If there is not a way to do this already I'd like to advocate for making an option so that when you create a custom field it can go to tasks only instead of tasks, projects, and folders, projects only, or projects and folders.

I have some custom fields I created that I use to create this print buying dashboard that shows my progress on all the projects at one glance, and all the custom fields unfortunetly show up on the project review as well so now I have a hard time deciphering what I need to fill in on the project view vs task view. This could be cleaned up if their was an option to only have the custom field be available from task view.

Thank you.

I am finding multiple discussion on this topic but no resolution. This is pretty frustrating. A granular task level attribute should not default up to the Project level as well. I have tasks that have a custom field called "Target Submission Date". That is very specific to tasks and documents way down in my hierarchy. That field has zero relevance at the Project level. The system allows you to choose:

  • projects, folders and tasks
  • projects and folders
  • projects only

Why not just allow tasks only as an option under Custom Field management? Seems simple enough.

Hey folks, I wanted to mention here that if you're using Custom item types, it's possible to hide certain custom fields on the project-type level:

Can this be helpful?

Every task I use is custom and this is not helpful as they still show up under "more fields" at the bottom & cause confusion. Can you hide these?  It has literally created so much confusion, I have had to add the following to note to the bottom over every task :)

Hi Sarah Irrer! If you click on "More fields" to collapse them, Wrike will remember the choice and they will remain collapsed the next time you open an item. Also, from what I can see on your screenshot, it looks like it's not a custom item type. But if you create one and replace the current task with it, you'll be able to customize which custom fields are visible and which aren't.
