[Status: Launched! ๐] Enable Sorting of Tasks inside Table View by Priority
Problem:
I want to view a prioritized list of tasks in an information dense view, including all custom fields and tags/foldersย so I have a snapshot of all the tasks my team has to work on.ย
Current State:
We use the list view, drag-and-dropping tasks,ย to create a prioritize queue of work. The problem with the list view is that it is not information dense - many fields are hidden, and only ~10 tasks fit on the screen at once. As a result, it's difficult to complete prioritization
The table view however, isย very information dense, and I love it. It's a much better way to see a lot of data, however you can't sort it by priority. There is no perfect view where I can see a prioritized list along with all of the relevant data.
Potential Solution
Enable sorting of the table view by priority
Count me in. Really needed.
+1
Also missing in TimeLine view though, so createdย https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360007947734-Enable-sorting-tasks-in-TimeLine-view-by-List-Dashboard-view-Priorityย (currently pending approval)
ย
+1 I just found out that a contractor we had been using had been assuming it was priority based for a few weeks. Given the price we pay for the service, I'm always slightly taken aback about how little important things like this are flagged ... but never fixed
ย
Agree @Ben Lee.ย I think I've +1 every suggestion for priority sorting posted.ย Unfortunately I think time might be running out for my team and Wrike because another group has introduced Teamwork and it looks like they're getting some traction.ย The decision was solely based on the ability to set priorities and sort by them.ย What really surprised me though was when I started sorting through the feature requests that this wasn't even near the top of the list.ย That makes me wonder if teams haven't just accepted it and have workarounds or if other people see it as not important.
To everyone interested in this kind of sorting being added to the Table view... in case you missed it - there's a "New Table View" feature available in Wrike Labs, but it's still missing sorting by Priority. I suggest you use theย "Send feedback" link there to voice your concern about this and link to this thread.
Hello,
I agree. My vote has been added. I really love this tool however, I became disappointed once I came across that my table was ordered alphabetically rather than the priority order I originally tried to set it up as. I hope Wrike will offer this featureย soon and just addย alphabetization as a filter in the future.
I agree that this should be addressed!
+1 the ability to easily manipulate the table view would be very useful.
Vote for drag and drop functionality in the table view.
Alternative: Default sortation in table view is equal toย sortation in list view.
@Florian I want to make sure our Product Team sees your suggestion, if you could create a new post in the Product Feedback section, that would let them know that you're specifically looking for the ability to change sorting order via drag and drop. And it would allow others to upvote the idea!ย

Looks like this thread has been running for a while, but this is still an issue for me (and others I expect).
I'd like threeย things:
1. The ability to sort by whichever field I wish - both custom and standard and
2. The same sort capability across list, board, and table
3. The sort to be maintained across views i.e. if I sort by a custom priority field in the table few and switch to list view, the sort order is preserved in the new view until I re-sort.
ย
Thanksย
Guys, when the feature will be available?
Am I missing something? Sorting by Priority is there - it's just not sticky. You have to click on the column header each login.
when the feature will be available?
Hi everyone, sorting by priority is available in the New Table View, you can enable it from Wrike Labs ๐

Adding my vote. I've gotten everything in just the right order using the drag and drop in list view, and I don't want to have to number all my items just to have table view work (and renumber them if I adjust priority!).ย For now, table view is basically a no-go because of the sorting.

Seems properly fixed in new table view :-)
