[Status: Launched ๐] Leads and Lags with Dependencies
How does one add a lead or a lag to a dependency.
For instance, I have a SS dependency between taskย 1 (painting the cabinets) and taskย 2 (sealing the cabinets).ย Taskย 2 can start when taskย 1 starts, but two hours must elapse from the time the first cabinet is painted until the sealer can be applied (I have two people working, so it's not necessary to complete the painting of the cabinets before the sealer can start going on the ones that are dry).
Soย for taskย 2 itย would look something like this for the dependency: 1SS+2h
How is this done in Wrike??
Seems like this has been on the table for a very long time.......I know the development team have said it would be available in December, are you guys still on track? I first posted my support for this feature back in October.
This feature is an absolute must have! Looking forward to a positive update from the Wrike development team.ย
I've been advised by the Wrike development team that this functionality is planned for release December 21. Stay tuned.
@Alex may be a Christmas miracle!
Hi Guys,
ย
Do we have an update on the release date? We have all been waiting patiently for our early Christmas present!
ย
ย
Any update on this?
Thanks for the blueprints lab feature!ย
Will time features be added so that lead and lag times can be done by minutes, sconds, and hours instead of just days?ย
Also, we want to be able to create dependencies without dates in both blueprints and regular folders/projects.
it would be amazing to visualize these dependencies with a new view in the form of a network diagram or somethin better.
Finally, is he calendar feature going to be updated to reflect these changes?
ย
All of these issues are tied to lead and lag times for us because we currently are stuck with MS Project for calculating this. In an ideal world, there would be pivotal dates and times we would change when cloning a blueprint into a project or updating an existing project should there be a delay of a pivotal date. This would let us define what tasks with dates control all the others.ย
Currently, the best we can do is hold the shift key down while dragging in the gant chart like in this editor:

ย
Happy New Year!
Any chanceย this feature will be released, at least in Wrike Labs, anytime soon?
@Stephen obviously not gonna happen in 2018 like you suggested in the thread...
When will it be available???
Update?
@all, sorry for the delayed response here!
The dates I provide here are accurate at the time. Anyone who has beenย around these forums a whileย will noticeย that we don't provideย timeframes unless I'm really confident. Iย was too confident this time around, I'm sorry ๐
So what happened? The plan was to have this released before theย end of December. However, because this update really digs deep into Wrike's logicย it was decided to move the launch to start of 2019.ย Our Product Teams don't release anything unless they areย confident it provides excellent user experience andย so it does not negatively affect any other experience in the Workspace. The nature of these assessments means that some short-term and unforeseen delays can occur during testing especially for a deep-logic feature like this.
I'm expecting an update next week with more specifics. What I can say for sure now, is that it's on the way and we're very, very close to launch!
Thanks to everyone for your engagement and support of this feature!
@stephen you stated you were hoping to be able to provide an update in about a week with more specifics?ย
What is the update on this sorely needed feature?
Is there any update on this feature?
Is there a release date for this feature?ย
Would it be possible to give us a status update on this feature please?
Is there any update to this?ย Originallyย this was supposed to be releasedย in October if I rememberย correctly.ย ย
Wrike, you seem to be quietย - does that mean you are all heads down, at work on this feature?
As the author of this original post, and in the interest of all of the others that have asked for this feature, upvoted, etc. I feel that we deserve an answer on the timing of the release.ย You said 1/3/19 that you expected an update the next week.ย That time has come and gone...so what's the scoop?
I have got to echo the sentiments of all the other recent posts.....What is going on, when can we expect this feature?
This is one of the reasons we canceled our Wrike subscription yesterday... It just doesn't work for us.
Unfortunately we are on a multi-year contractย
@Zil bummer, especially if you are finding that the solution does not meet your needs.ย We went to a minimal user,ย month-to-month subscription with Wrike and just signed with another solution that is more capable, but with a less robust UI.ย I am still hanging around with Wrike to see if they can get their product to where it needs to be, but we're forging ahead with the other solution.
Still no word on this? Wrike, I'd think you'd be scrambling to get this done with users commenting they are canceling and downgrading their subscriptions because of the lack of this feature.
David - I agree.ย But I bet you'll be able to put a heart theme/skin on your Wrike screen come Valentines Day! ;)ย Who needs leads and lags (and other features) when you can have a pretty screen... (lots of sarcasm here)
Got to say...this is becoming a problem for me also.
Our team is expanding but I am holding off adding any new subscriptions until I know this feature is up and running...this really should have been a primary function at the outset. Our subscription is coming up for renewal in March, I sincerly hope I will not be adding our company to the list of companies leaving!
The radio silence from Wrike is especially disturbing, it's time to put this at the top of the pile guys!
Megan, you mentioned you just signed with another solution. I'm curious, which one?
Megan - AMEN!
Did any of you take the time to try it out?ย Looks like it's working on my end!
ย
I had no idea this was live. Great!
Glad to see that it is available in the Gantt view, and it would be nice for someone at Wrike to announce in this thread since it's such a hot topic, but, for me, at least, it's not showing up in the List or New Table view where that information is also important and should be able to be edited.
Nice of them to let us know? ๐คฆ
