@mention Project Owners on Project Info

Hi,

Would be good if we could @mention the Owners of a Project and would be good if this could be incorporated into the Wrike Automations 'Add comment and mention'.

Kind Regards,
Aaron

Hi Aaron Davison, thank you for posting your suggestion!

Could you please provide a little more detail on your use-case - in what scenarios would it be more convenient to @mention the owner instead of @mention by name stated in the project view?

Regarding the automation rules, in what cases would it help to add "comment and mention"?

Thank you 🙌

Hi Lisa,

Sure thing. Being able to mention the Project Owners would mainly be used in Wrike Automations.
So the Trigger fires for a Project. For example all the children tasks are completed or another trigger. So then the Action would be to comment and mention the project owners on the Project (as well as potentially mark project as completed at same time) to notify them of the project is now completed so they can do their bit to check, invoice, notify client and/or close the project. Hope my example makes sense (apologies if not).

Kind Regards,
Aaron

Thank you for providing extra detail here, Aaron Davison!

So right now it is possible to @mention and also add another action like changing the project status to "Completed" if all tasks are completed. I understand that you'd like to have a "Project owner" as an option with the existing options here like "followers, "author", "approvers" or a specific user or user group:

I'm passing on your feedback now. In the meanwhile, would it be helpful to add a @mention and a message for the followers, or a group of project managers if you have a group like that?

Hi Lisa,

Yes that exactly it! Thanks heaps for passing on the feedback :)

Yeah good idea. We'll probably just have to create and message our PM Group for now. That'll work for now. Thanks for your help.

Kind Regards,
Aaron

It would be the same functionality as @assignees in the comments section of tasks, this is not available on projects for some reason - why does this functionality not exist?

This comment is from 1.5 years ago - and it does not appear that any action has been taken. I upvoted it but it does not appear production really cares about the requests that come through via this method. Wrike really needs a UX/UI team (or a better one) because this is a pretty basic request that could really enhance the user's experience of the product. Why have @assignees and @followers BUT not @owners in projects?  It makes absolutely no sense - why @owners would be excluded.  #LeSigh this product so frustrating 😣

Hi Trineka Greer, welcome to the Community!

Please let me take a moment to share some information about how we work with Product feedback. Our team looks at a range of factors, including Community votes/feedback to access what to work on in the future. The popularity of a suggestion helps the team to determine the impact new functionality will have for users, so the more votes a suggestion has, the more the team can see the need. You can read more about the process in this post.

At the moment, this suggestion is yet to reach the 60+ vote threshold for us to add a status, but we have passed on your feedback to the team. If there is anything else we can help with, please don't hesitate to ask.

I'm here to request the same thing. It's a pretty huge oversight to not have automatically included an option for an @mention for owners of projects in the similar way that @assignees was added for tasks. In our case, choosing to @mention @followers would @mention way more people than necessary and wouldn't be the right people to perform the action requested in the automated comment. I need one person to action on that comment--the project owner, that's it.

Hi Ginnie Chan, welcome to the Community 👋

Currently, it's only possible to @mention followers, assignees, and user groups (more info in this article). I'd suggest creating a separate post for your suggestion in this forum 👍
