[From Wrike] Space-Level Blueprints Are Here! ๐Ÿคฉ

Mostrato in alto In evidenza

Hi everyone!

I hope youโ€™re having a great week and looking forward to the upcoming weekend ๐Ÿ™‚

Today, we are thrilled to announce the much-anticipated ๐Ÿ”ต space-level blueprints! ๐Ÿ”ต

We know that many of you have been waiting for the ability to organise your blueprints on the space (often, departmental or team) level. And it is now possible!

Space members can easily access, view, and edit these blueprints. You can also select space blueprints in the space-level request forms and use them in the space-level automation ๐Ÿ“Œ

Depending on whether you are a space admin or space member, youโ€™ll be able to create or view your space-level blueprints, as well as create work items from space-level blueprints in the Blueprints tab of space's settings (for admins) or via a Blueprints button in the upper right corner of the view.ย

For more detailed instructions on creating new space-level blueprints or generating work items from them, please refer to this Help Center article.ย

Please note that the option to save items as space-level blueprints will also be added in the near future ๐Ÿ™Œ

How do you plan on utilising space-level blueprints? We would love to hear your thoughts and any feedback you might have. Please share below ๐Ÿ‘‡

I think this will be great for team specific procedures that don't necessarily need to be shared organization wide. Looking forward to discussing with me team!

We will definitely be utilizing this and will need to move the existing ones to spaces!

Yay!!! I'm so glad this is here!

I do have some questions, or maybe I haven't figured out how to get it to work:

  • Is there an easy way to move our existing blueprints from the general Blueprints area into a specific Space?
  • Is it possible to "Save as blueprint..." into the Space's area instead of the general area?

I really think this will help us clean up our Account level blueprints - and teams will have the blueprints they need in their individual spaces!!

Also, I'm having trouble with request forms and the Space Blueprints. Specifically, I have a single select question and have used the Replace task conditional action for each option. I can find and set the Space Blueprint tasks in the form, but when I fill out the form and submit it, the created task isn't from the blueprint; it only has the form answers in the description and not the blueprint description.

The request form does belong to the same space as the blueprints, and the blueprints are using a custom item type from the same space as well.ย

We will use them to separate our different sides. Each has their own working stile so eaverybody has its own space and needs their own workflows, blueprints and so on. Good step, please make Wirke more usable for big comapnies.

Echoing prior comments... LOVE this new feature! But...

How can we move existing blueprints to spaces?ย

Thank you for keeping your feedback and questions coming, everyone ๐Ÿ™‚

The options to move existing blueprints to specific spaces, as well as "save as blueprint" in the space are coming soon, our team is working on it now.

Joshua Balentine In relation to the case you've described when working with request forms, it looks like our team was able to reproduce this, so they'll take it on for research, we'll keep you posted on how it goes. Thank you for flagging this!ย

We currently only use one space called "Clients" where each client has a folder with their projects in it.ย  We don't really use other spaces (not even personal).ย  Are there any benefits to moving our blueprints we use for client projects to the Clients space if we only use 1 space?

Thank you so much for confirming that the ability to move existing account-wide blueprints to spaces is coming soon! Came here just to find that answer.

Great news, have been waiting aaaaaages for this!

Admittedly am disappointed to see however that in our case we will need to wait longer yet to actually implement, as we couldn't wait any longer for this update - our busy period was about to start - so I was forced to build "fake" space-level blueprints by building project templates in each space, and saving them in a zBlueprints folder in each space as we NEEDED all our space-level CITs to be included.

So we really need that "save as blueprint" function to take the final step of converting to real SLBs - looking forward to seeing this update news in the *crosses everything* very very near future! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

Thank you all for sharing your feedback, our team is monitoring it closely ๐Ÿ™Œ

Danielle Wilson It's a great question! I think that there's no huge need in that in your case, but things may change in the future and you may start suing more that one space.ย

This is and interesting feature update!

However, I really like the ease of clicking on my More menu and going straight to my blueprints vs navigating to my space, clicking the icon, and going to blueprints. I use the blueprints VERY frequently, so having them right there helps me spin up projects very quickly from where ever I am in Wrike.

We also primarily work out of one space as a Marketing team, and then start a new space every year so we can have a clean slate for our campaigns. I found that having multiple spaces was too confusing for the team, so keeping everything in on Space was more efficient. I could see this being a very helpful feature to have as we migrate to new spaces over time. I have a bunch of old templates in blueprints that I dont use anymore but they're there ~ just in case ~. Moving our blueprints over to the Space level would be helpful for version control of those templates, and if we need to go back and grab an old template, it would be in the old Space instead of having to try to remember what it was before. I've had this happen before where I changes a Blueprint for a reason, and then ended up having to revert it back and I had to try to remember what it was, reset up all the subtasks and dependancies, etc.ย

Brittany Stringer Oooo you bring up a really good point with the navigation! We're currently using Blueprints for Marketing and IT in our organization and pretty much everyone in Marketing is trained to go to the straight to the "More" button in the top right, Blueprints > Marketing Blueprints folder.ย

Could we get a way to pin space blueprints so it shows up on the left nav bar? (I assume it would also pin to the "Home" page as well? I discovered that's what the majority of my organization is using to navigate Wrike and the things they want to see/most often use.

Lisa any idea on a timeframe that "save as blueprint" or the ability to move blueprints to spaces will be released? I can't adopt this feature until that is released.

Lisa Is there a way to share a space-level blueprint with a space so it shows up in the space-level blueprints area?

Hello Eric Sayasene, thank you for sharing your question with us. Once you create the blueprint in your Space, it should be accessible for all the space members:

You can learn more about Space blueprints in this article. Please, let us know if this is the information you were looking for ๐Ÿ™‚

If we build a blueprint as a space blueprint, is it not possible to have tasks created to go into another space's folder?

For example, we have an email release task that also needs to be added to a folder in a different space than where the blueprint is made, but I'm not seeing that folder as an option.

Hello Amber Lyons, thank you for bringing this to us. I'm afraid that at the moment the easiest way to achieve this would be to tag the folder after the item has been created.

May I ask you if you need to include your items into the same folder every time you create these tasks? If that was the case, an automation rule could be useful as well. We'd need to know a bit more details about your use case to provide you with an accurate reply ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you!ย
