Request Forms: Add task to folder dropdown

On the custom request form I'd like to see a dropdown that is populated by all folders and projects within a selected folder. We have an account folder with hundreds of accounts that we are adding to weekly. I'd like for someone submitting a request to be able to pick from an existing account on the list or create a new one. Their task would then be created in the selected account folder.

Hi Sarah, this is a very interesting idea. In basic terms, you'd like a list of Folders that the Requester can choose to map his request to. I like the idea, so I'll make sure it's passed onto our Product Team 🙂

In the meantime, have you reviewed the dynamic Request form option of adding conditional parent Folders? This means you ask a question and the answer that's chosen will add a task to a pre-determined Folder you've specified when building the report.

This may require that you rethink how you build your form, but I'm happy to assist here with any questions you have 👍

This is a request that I have as well. We use Projects as templates for our processes. It would be VERY helpful if we could use the Request Forms to kick off the Projects rather than going through the "Duplicate" Process to kick off new workflows. We aren't able to do that yet, because we need the person submiting a request to be able to chose the folder destination for the new project from the folders that are available within their account ie. Only shared with them.

This would greatly simplify our process and help adoption with our franchise base. Thinking ahead, it may also be nice to be able to CREATE a folder that you want to duplicated project to populate in.

I am looking for the same functionality. My team has hundreds of folders for tasks, too many to create and keep up with a conditional logic option, and when doing a request form it would be HUGE if they could select the folder they want.

The ability for a user to search for and select an associated folder or project directly in the request form (before submitting) would be an incredibly valuable feature that would solve a lot of headaches and manual work for us. It would be particularly useful when a dynamic request form is used to create tasks instead of projects, which we use quite a bit.

@All, personally I really like this idea but it's been a while since I updated this. The reason is that this would require a huge amount of work from our developers so it has not been prioritized ahead of essential workspace updates, and would also require for the team to build different requirements for external and internal forms (external people won't need to see internal info).

It also raises the risk of a user creating a new Folder. It lands there, but it goes unseen, or you end up losing control of how many new Folders are created.

However, I understand the core of the idea and the reasons it's been requested so please keep voting and adding use cases here so it's stays on the product teams radar for future research 🙌

This functionality will save a lot of time for our users too. We have a lot of folders that we save projects into and having the option to select a folder for a new project created through a request form will be extremely useful.

And would be a bonus if we could create new folders too.

This would be extremely helpful, we need a way to place the task or project in the folder or sub-folder we desire. this limitation puts unnecessary MANUAL workarounds into our processes, which essentially is defeating the purpose Wrike's serves.

This Feature would be hugely beneficial for our Team as well. We need the ability when filling out a Request Form to have a Dropdown Auto/Dynamically Populated with Folders and/or Projects.

This would be a great feature to have, to be able to choose a parent project from a request form dynamically when creating a subproject would save time and also improve processes.
