[Status: Launched! 🚀] Customising Project status

Just had this feature activated in our account & so far so good. The only drawback is that this workflow still does not function as Task workflows do in Board view where you can click & drag projects from status to status. Would be great if your projects team could re-look into considering that feature for future implementation. For any team working in Agile / Kanban style workflows, this is an integral feature to have.

I'd like to be added to the waitlist please. This will be really helpful for our company. I like several users suggestions on being able to differentiate Project workflows vs. Task workflows. That should help keep us much more organized too with less confusion. Can this be added in or looked at too?

We've been testing this out but are unable to implement it without more capabilities on dashboards.

I completely agree,  when exporting Excel report the green confuses our client.  Please inform me when this is customizable with a name other than green, yellow red.

Does this update only add custom, or also add the option for the accounts created after 4/15/2019?

• New: For (newly created) projects you intend to work on, but on which you haven't yet started working. 
  
• In Progress: for projects you are currently working on.
  
• Completed: for projects which have been completed.
  
• On Hold: for projects which are postponed or temporarily on hold. Projects can be marked as "on hold" even if they have scheduled start and due dates. 
  
• Cancelled: for projects which are no longer relevant or which no longer need to be completed.

Would love to be able to have this activated for us.

I need to add a custom project status on our account.

We LOVE that we can now use Custom Project Statuses to have better visibility of all projects - but have quickly realized our team doesn't prefer having to keep up with updates on the Project Status. We haven't been utilizing Project Status before now since it wasn't customizable (and thus, confusing) and now we're having trouble trying to implement it since it seems impossible to keep up with. 

Please add a feature to set a status to auto-update to a specific status when a specified task has been completed. Thanks!

Please add out team too - not being able to customize project status has been so confusing for me. I spent hours trying to figure out why i wasn't able to use custom workflows in the projects dropdown and just realized that it wasn't possible.

Just learned of this thread and idea. It just popped up on a new project. Surprise!  The way this project status workflows feature has been designed is not helpful for us at this time and in fact it can cause confusion and mistakes.  It would be nice if this feature could be made optional or turned off. This feature - as deployed - allows the same workflows to be used for either projects or tasks, and in fact co-mingles them. So we can now choose any workflow for a project or for tasks, and along the same line set any workflow as a default for a folder or project. It sounds like a good thing, but it isn't working out well, and I wish I could have the option to disable this (or had at least a month or two of advance warning so I could have thought this through a bit). Projects and tasks are very different objects (at least in my world!), and so the first issue is projects should have different statuses than tasks. It would have been fine to have created custom project statuses, but not with these in the same "pile" as the statuses for tasks. The result of what has been released is that I can't sandbox these away from each other, and users will - intentionally or accidentally - get confused or choose a status from the wrong workflow, or select the wrong default workflow for items. So for example in my situation, I already had a custom workflow titled 'Projects" which was used for most of our projects but of course only applied to the tasks within those projects, and my organization's staff has been growing in understanding of what that workflow is for. My "Projects" workflow of course did not interfere with the statuses of the projects per se since projects had their own set of statuses, and that was good (there are statuses in my "Projects" workflow for instance would not be appropriate for projects, only for tasks).

But now this new feature has turned the existing unnamed and unchangeable project workflow into one named "Project Workflow", which now appears in our list of workflows and is available to tasks as well as projects, so everyone see both "Projects" and "Project Workflow" in our workflows list.  Confusing? Yes. But worse for me is I can't figure out a clean way to fix it. I don't want to rename "Projects" (what I have for some time trying to standardize on) and I can't hide "Project Workflow" from users and and I don't really want to rename "Project Workflow" but I did (to "zProject status workflow(ONLY)", which is pretty ugly but hopefully will scare people away from trying to use it for tasks under their projects, which would not work for them at all.  I could list a few more specific issues with this feature but I didn't mean for this post to become so lengthy.  Upshot from me is - if possible, allow this to be an configurable feature or opt-out, or just give more advance notice of such changes so we can be better prepared.  THX

The Custom Projects function is working nicely to help track status on projects. It would be great if Projects could be managed within a Folder the same way that Tasks can be managed within a Project in Board view. Currently that functionality does not exist.
