custom fields - Display anywhere/everywhere
I would like to display custom fields anywhere I choose. This is especially helpful in the board view, where I can see characteristics about a task (such as budget) at a glance.

Folllowing List for Post: custom fields - Display anywhere/everywhere

Yes, totally agree. Every default view is useless to us because custom fields can't be displayed. I also want to be able to select a different sort (i.e. custom field "next action date" instead of due dates for task sorting in the various views.
Hi Todd and Alexis! Thank you for sharing this idea. @Alexis, thanks for the example with "next action date". It would be great to learn a but more about the types of field you, Todd, and other teams use and would like to see in different views. Another question I had was whether you see this as being like a filter/checkbox option on the view, where you can select the exact fields you want to see?
Thanks for the follow up. The 2 primary custom fields we use are "next action" (this is the concrete next step required in a project/task) and "next action date" (this is different from the due date, but rather, the date the aforementioned "next action" needs to be complete. In an ideal world I'd be able to see both of these from any standard view. And I would love the capability of being able to select which fields I want to see in each view (just like you can for table view); this way, individuals can customize, and we can remove fields we don't really care about (aka, description).
Alexis, thank you for following up! I think that being able to customize views like that is a great idea, and I really appreciate the examples and details you've shared, this is helpful.
+10 this is something that Asana does really well. Custom fields for us are nearly useless if we are unable to see them on the list view. Asana allows you to select which custom fields (if any) you'd like to show on the list view.
Has there been any movement on the ability to see (and sort by) custom fields in all views? I've used reports as a workaround for this (so I can sort all tasks by a custom field in one list), but because reports don't auto-refresh, this is sort of a clunky workaround and it's hard to get other people on board with it since there is so much extra clicking.
@Alexis Hi! I know you were talking to Anastasia about this before, but is there a particular view you'd like to see Custom Fields on? That will help me get ask the right person to know if it's something that the team is thinking about doing.
@Stephanie Yes, we'd love to see it in the other standard views: List view, Boards, in dashboard widgets (that are list view), My Work, etc. And more importantly, the ability to sort by custom fields in views other than Table would be great as well. For instance, I would like to be able to choose to sort My Work by the custom field "next action date" instead of the standard field "due date".
Thanks!
Alexis
Sorry for the delay here Alexis. I've raised this with the Product Team to check if this might be planned in the future. I'll get back to your here once I've heard back 👍

Any updates on that topic? We're currently are really in need of custom fields in the board view 🙁
Hi it's me again. Just checking in on that request. It would be a huge improvement to be able to show the custom fields in the board view. We've recently switched to wrike and are happy in general. Except for that one thing. Workarounds would be: Creating Tasks (that doesn't work that well because of 50+ Tags …) or using the table view -> the custom fields are there shown as additional colums (that view of course is not as clean as the board view) … :( Please help us out here!
The Wrike team is pointing us towards the following article for this topic for those that want to have the ability to HIDE custom fields. Please upvote at the below link if you want this feature:

Hi Cameron, I think your suggestion addresses a different topic. I too am missing the option to display custom fields on the board view(optimally with different colors for custom fields), I would expect it to look something like this mockup:
Cameron, the ability to hide custom fields works selectively at best. What we really need is a custom field manager where we can manage how we would like to use the fields. Here is a really good feed to address this https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115003107809-Custom-field-manager?page=1#community_comment_360002248833
@All, the Product Team is really interested in this idea and agree that it makes sense. However, the implementation of this is complicated as it will affect pretty much every area of the Workspace. The team has assigned time in the third quarter of this year to research and scope the necessary work that's needed for this.
When I have further updates, I'll be sure to update you here.
@Angi - have you seen this Custom Field Management - I believe it's along the right direction of what you're looking for 👍
Hi Stephen, I'm getting routing to an odd link.
I believe this is what he wanted to share: https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/articles/360010049154-Custom-Field-Management
However, this doesn't solve for the issue with being able to truly manage how the custom field works regarding where within the project it would display (ex. on a pane in the board view)
Hi, I would also like to add a big +1 for this. I heavily evaluated Clickup earlier this year, and seeing custom fields which I used for a multitude of categorization of tasks, right on the board, was great for meetings, planning, etc. Really hope you guys can make this happen, ideally by providing the option to show the custom field or not.
Thanks!
This is one of the features that's holding back our company from moving to Wrike coming from Asana.
I can't imagine sales wouldn't be pushing for this feature??
Hi, just wanted to jump back in as this one is important for me. I think there is some good info that would be very useful to see in Boards on cards in addition to what's there right now. I just posted about task completion date here:
https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360035116114-Show-completed-date-on-Kanban-cards
I also think being able to surface Custom Fields is at the top of the list, as a team can have some crucial info that's locked up in the fields and would be good to see when "walking the board." In fact, I'd argue that Custom Fields in Wrike work as "labels" or "tags" that a lot of people are used to seeing in all kinds of apps, like email, even blogs. So all the more important to see on the board!
Hoping to see this soon guys!
to show Custom fields on Boards is very useful. It is a must have for our organization.
Hi, is there any update on this?
We too would really like a feature that makes it possible to display Custom Fields on the Cards on the Boards! :)
One use case for custom fields: our monthly timelog report must include the project's WBS code. The WBS code is included *in a custom field* in each project. Currently, when producing the timelog report, I have to produce two reports from Wrike: one containing the timelog entries (along with project title), another one from Wrike's table view including project title and the WBS custom field. Then I have to match these reports in Excel using VLOOKUP based on project title in order to add the WBS code to each row in the timelog report. It would be quite a time saver to be able to simply add the WBS code custom field to the timelog report.
Hey everybody, I have some great news! You can now add custom field values to cards in Board view.
If you have any other questions let me know 😊
