Save default layout for Table view

Can a default layout be set for a Table? We have several custom fields assigned to a folder, and our users jump back and forth between Table and Board view in the folder. They need the columns in Table view arranged a certain way. Is there a way to arrange them and then set this to a default so it doesn't get re-arranged by somebody else?

One of our users has set this up the way she wants several times, and yet somehow it's reverting back to other formats, and some of the custom fields are being removed. She doesn't know why. I'd like to be able to just set it up for her and lock it somehow.

Hi Ashley Crane!

We have recently released Wrike Views, which allows you to create and save a default view for the Table view and share it across your account. You can enable this in your account via Wrike Labs.

Let me know if this helped!

I think the implementation of Wrike Views misinterpreted the user feedback given in the community.  In many threads, we were asking to set columns and filters in a table view that could be saved into a "Saved View" that could be recalled and applied to ANY other table context in the system.  Currently, Wrike requires you to set the columns and filters at every level of every hierarchy in the platform in order to get that view.  What we wanted was to set and save a set of columns and filters once, and apply it to whatever table we're looking at anywhere else.

Lisa do we have an update on this? I have the same issue. I'd like my views to be able to be applied to any of my spaces/folders etc

Welcome to Wrike forums Mark Mac Manus 👋 Thank you for reaching out!

Have you tried using custom views? They allow you to create and save multiple views, save view settings, such as filters and sorting, and share them with the team without duplicating effort. Custom views can be created with List, Board, Gantt Chart, Files and Table views.

Also, our team is now researching the ability to push views to all the child folders and projects.

Lisa, custom views doesn't prevent duplicating effort as current implemented.  If you save a custom view, it applies only to one specific level within one project hierarchy in one place in the space.  So, one has to create that view at every level in every project in every space where one want's to use the view.  The problem we're struggling with isn't sharing the view with others (who likely want their own views), it's applying a created view to any context one finds himself in.

I understand Brandon Larocque, we mention this option in case it works for some use cases 🙂

Hello, piggy backing off this thread which was last replied to about 6 months ago, but, since I am dealing with the same.. In the last 6 months, has Wrike built and implemented a feature that'll allow users to create and/or modify their preferred layout/table view and save it, that'll allow, with 1 simple click of a button this saved/preferred layout to be used across any page/space/folder/project/etc. etc.?

Lisa, any updates from Wrike?  Is this feature planned in the development backlog?  Has it been rejected?

Hey Wil Bryan! Glad to have you in the Community! 🎉

For the original post, the best solution is to create a view where you can arrange columns as needed and add filters. You can set it to Personal to prevent others from editing the column arrangement or filters.

Regarding copying a certain view that can be applied to any other locations, there's a similar thread you can check out. As you can see, this feature has already been launched 🚀, and you can find more details in this weekly release note.

I hope this helps. Thank you! 😊
