[Status: Backburner ⏳] Approvals by User Group

I'm a big fan of the new approvals feature, but not being able to have approvals by user group rather than only users is preventing our team from implementing.

For example, we have a process that requires 3 departments approval prior to the task moving to the next status. There are 3-4 people in each of these departments (who are also user groups). We don't need approval from all 12 people to move forward with the task, only 3 (1 approval from each department).

Thanks!

I think what would be just as useful (and should achieve the above) is an either/or scenario.

We have a number of 'auto' approvals set up based on status change. However, when that person is off sick or on leave we have issues. It should be possible to choose if it's everyone or not who is required to approve.

I just wanted to voice my support for more options for adding approvers. Adding a group of users where only 1 person would need to approve, or adding 2 or more individuals as Optional approvers where only 1 needs to actually press "Approve" would be extremly helpful for our team's processes.

This would be really helpful for my team. Having a "pool" of people who can approve, but only needing one of those people to actually approve for the project to move forward would be ideal.

Hey everyone, thank you for all your suggestions and feedback! It's been passed on to the Product team.

We would also be very interested in a feature like this. We have projects where we only need an approval from either of two managers for work to begin, and others where we need one approval from any of the managers and one of the specialists. Being able to set approvals to something like "Managers" AND "UserX" would be incredibly useful.

Would also love to see this feature implemented. Right now we have a "review crew" of ~15 team members that we currently have to type in individually. Would save a lot of time and make for some easier change management if we could type in "review crew" and have them all populate automatically.

This would be such a beneficial feature to be implemented.  Our review process includes a larger group of people (15-20) and being able to add a whole group rather than each individual approver would save us a lot of time.  I'm concerned that implementing Wrike Approval into our process could take a hit because of the manual nature of this process.  Please help us streamline.

I totally agree with this suggestion. We want to use the approval process within request forms but only need one approval from a small group of admins instead of every admin individually. Before approvals, we added the "approvers" as assignees and the first one that got on the task would remove the others and change the status to active. With the approval process, we're doing quite the same but I find this more cumbersome. As Alissa said...please help us streamline!

Anna Fields and Alissa Shaia, if you always use the same "review crew" at the same stage of your process (and need all of them to approve the task), you can configure these approvers in your workflows. This way, when the status reaches "approval" for example, approvers will be added by Wrike Bot automatically. 😉

Hey everyone! Thanks a lot for your continued support for the suggestion here!

I've checked with the team, and this is on their radar, which means they understand the need and would like to implement it in the future. This is not in their short-term plans at the moment, but I'll definitely keep an eye on this suggestion 👍

I agree, this would be a great feature.  I would like to assign a review to a department and once any member of the department gives the approval then its considered approved. Right now we add all the members of the department to the review and once someone approves the review we need to manually remove the other members of the department from the review

We need this feature as well.  We would like to assign the approval to a group and any one of those in the group can Accept/Reject.  Right now we have to manually add each user/approver.

Similar to this we'd like to be able to notify an entire group, but only require 2 approvers. i.e having a group of say 10 managers, but only needing 2 out of the 10 to approve, and it's whoever gets to it first.

Ditto, would love it to be a Job Roll, so we can have any of the approvers pick it up and run with it.

Adding my support here! Our team could definitely benefit from being able to add a Group to the Approvals process, and not just individual Users. Here is one use-case scenario:

We have 3 people on a team (1 manager + 2 direct reports), and need the following approval:

  1. Manager only
  2. Manager + direct report 1 OR
  3. Manager + direct report 2

I have added the manager to our automated Approvals process, however she then has to potentially tag someone from her team if their approval is also needed - thus creating an additional manual step in our team's general process. 😕

Having 'Group Approvals' (where the Group would be auto-tagged but one or more Users in the Group could approve) would fully automate that part of the process for our applicable Workflows.

We're so close! I hope you can make this happen!

We are running into the same problem as described above.

Adding in my support for this request.  We have a small group of people identified that approver a task.  We only need one person in this group to approve.  However the current process in Wrike does not allow this.  Currently I am adding them individually and I have to keep an eye on if 1 of 4 approves the task.  Then manually adjust the task to move it forward.

Do we have any ETAs on when a group approval feature would be added to Wrike?  This would be a huge improvement to approval process

Thanks

I would also want to support this feature to have group approval or some sort of delegate approval.
