Our team is currently working on a concept that can be of great help to those of you who execute strategic planning in Wrike. The aim of this potential future feature set is to align your strategic visions with your tactical initiatives and accurately monitor your execution progress in real time ๐ก
Here are the key points of this initiative:
- Linked Strategy and Execution: Seamlessly compare strategic vision to tactical execution results making sure everyone is on the same page.
- Automatic Portfolio Scenarios: Create strategic roadmap scenarios from all your initiatives automatically to effectively manage your goals & constraints.
- Easy high level portfolio planning: Focus on the big picture for your strategic planning: from capacity & costs to the timelines & outcomes. Use it as input for the tactics.
While we canโt yet share details of this project, we can say now that weโre validating an idea of a new tool for strategic & scenario planning that can be linked to regular Wrike projects. With it, youโll be able to calculate targets and total costs, use timelines, manage constraints like budgets and capacity, create several scenarios, compare actual execution to the strategic plan, and more.ย

"Linked Strategy and Execution" sounds like it may be a topic that has been big on my list for years, ever since we started using Wrike. I have provided lots of feedback over the years on this missing element in Wrike. It is of great interest to me to see what is being considered and if it addresses the shortcomings I see in Wrike related to this.

Looks like I missed the boat on this but I'm definitely interested in the potential here. My team manages an active portfolio which is a mix of several very large-scale strategic programs/initiatives as well as many related and unrelated tactical projects. At this point, the needs for managing discrete tactical projects are relatively well met by the tool, and we are able to extract basic datapoints from those projects at the portfolio for some strategic decision making, but we're not using it as much for the large complex strategic programs/planning.ย
