๐ Unleashing Public Links for New Table View: Share Information Effortlessly ๐
รpinglรฉe En avantHello Community ๐
Today, we're beyond thrilled to announce the rollout of Public Links for New Table view! This new feature expands the ways to share high-level information from projects or folders more easily, even to users without a Wrike license! ๐
With just two clicks, live public links can now be generated from any custom New Table view.
The sharer will have the configuration rights, enabling them to filter data, hide columns, and more. This ensures that the shared table only contains the exact data you intend to share.ย
You only need to click on the Public link button, located at the top of your view to start creating them:
Hereโs all you need to know about how Public links work:ย
๐ **Password Protection**: Added layer of security to ensure your data is always protected.
โ **Link Expiry**: Can be configured and will automatically render the link unavailable after the set date (max 1 year).ย
โ๏ธ **Grouping and Sorting**: Incorporated in the public link, enhancing customization!
โช๏ธ **Live Updates**: Your public link updates whenever your Wrike data changes, no more creating new links for every minor update.
๐ **Project Hierarchy**: Easily viewable, but tasks will remain closed from public views.
๐ **Classic views solution**: view duplication. Since it is not possible to create a public link of a classic view, youโd first need to duplicate the classic view to use it as a custom view.
โ๏ธ **Settings Features**: Additional layers of control over the Public links (allow/deny on an account level, and enforcing password protection). Plus, select which user types can create public links.
๐ **Monitoring**: All events with Public Links are captured in access reports and activity reports.
Weโd like to thank you for your valuable suggestions and feedback that lead to ideas like this and make our continual improvement possible ๐
We'd love to hear your thoughts, ideas, and questions about this new feature. Let us know below ๐
<3 Love this! Very useful.
Very nice... Is the public link only usable by the people we send to or is anyone that gets ahold of the link able to view the contents?
Thank you Neyl Walecki!
Hi, John Phillips, when creating the public link, you will see a pop-up stating the following: Anyone with the link can see this view, but they can't edit or open items to see more details:
Please, let us know if you have any additional questions ๐
This is a great new feature which will be very helpful for my team. Thanks Juan!ย
Backing up Paul - we've been experimenting with this feature this week and it's working well for us
Love this feature as well!!ย Is it possible to turn this feature on/off at the space level?ย Due to the sensitivity of data in some spaces, those groups don't want this feature as an option.ย However, others groups would love to have this feature allowed in their space.ย It looks like the only option is to turn it on/off at the account level, but I hate to take it off for those spaces that could use it.ย Is there any consideration for making this a space level setting feature so each space admin can decide if it's right for their group?
agree w Justin Clark , we too would like space , or even project level controls for this feature. ย SV -
Thank you for your feedback folks!
Turning public links on & off at the space level is not on the team's immediate plans, but they are planning to research this option.ย

Lisa, this could be a great tool, but for us unless we can`t control at the space , project or individual level we can`t use it.
Hi Claude jr Dorion, thank you for your feedback, I'm passing it on to our Product Team ๐ Please, feel to let us know more details about your use case as this will help our Team better understand why these changes would have a positive impact ๐
Thank you!
This is great! Are there plans to have public links for dashboards? Thank you
Wondering if I'm dense...ย
We're trying to use this, but we can't filter to show only our projects level, despite this note above:ย
๐ **Project Hierarchy**: Easily viewable, but tasks will remain closed from public views.
Tasks are all viewable under the projects shown?ย
Hi Emily Taylor, yes, our team has plans to launch this option too ๐
Hello Whitney Norton, all tasks are viewable unless. You can use filters to hide tasks in public links ๐
@... must be me that's dense! How do you use a filter to hide tasks in public links? Everytime I deselect all task types, it also hides the projects above?
Hi Whitney Norton, may I please kindly ask you to include a screenshot of your view? We'd need to see the filters you're applying to better understand you case ๐
Thank you!

Is there any way to embed public links within iFrames?
@... I have a question about public links for dashboards. I created a dashboard that lists projects and tasks for a client (filtered by a custom field that only shows specific projects/tasks to the client). When I look at the dashboard, it shows each project and the tasks for each project. However, the public link only shows a list of tasks with no project-wise breakdown. I have attached redacted screenshots of what we see and what is visible on the public link. Could you please advise on what I am doing wrong? Thanks for your help! ย
Hey Garvit, sorry for the delayed response. It looks like a bug, and I've created a ticket with the support for you so we can look at it and investigate. Please expect them to reach out to you to collect the details.ย

Vladimir Bugay Thank you for getting back to me. I am talking to somebody on the support team about the same issue. I hope it gets resolved soon. Thanks!ย
Hi - I've just noticed something curious. We love the public links; however we are not in the US and are finding that when a public link is created, the table defaults to US date order of month/day/year, despite all our settings being set to the day/month/year setting. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? It's confusing some of our clients!ย
Hi Shona Snowden! Thank you for your feedback! Yes we can confirm this is a bug on our side! We plan to fix this in the upcoming weeks, after that the date format will be selected based on your profile setting!ย

Andre Boros do you have any update on this? we had another complaint today!ย
Hi Shona Snowden! We have yesterday rolled out the fix for this issue! Now if you open a public link the date formats will always be the same as the user who created the public link!
