Duplicate [Status: Backburner ⏳] More Inbox notification options within Wrike

It would be extremely useful to be able to configure inbox notifications in the same way email notifications can be configured. One of the reasons we moved to Wrike (which is also reinforced in Wrike's marketing) is that we want to host all of our projects/tasks/to-dos in one place rather than having them spread out in multiple places.

Right now, Wrike is not living up to that promise because much of the important updates that we'd like to know about flow through email, which is outside of Wrike, and there is no option to change this.

For example, I'd like to get notifications in Wrike when data/assignee/status is changed on tasks, someone comments without @mentioning me (on a task I follow), task is deleted, etc.. All of these are available for email, but email notifications suck and there isn't an option to have them natively within Wrike.

This isn't as high priority, but along with configurable notifications within Wrike, it would be great to be able to set default notification settings for new users to Wrike, so I don't have to tell each person individually how to initially set up their preferences.

Hi Calum, welcome to the forums! I completely understand not wanting to have to work out of email and being able to work completely in one place. Tighe actually posted a request asking for that functionality as well. Could you +1 his post? That will help us keep everything consolidated.

I'm going to rename your post to "More Inbox Notification Options" just to make it easier for others to find and edit, that way we can send them here to +1 your request.

I completely agree with the request.

"For example, I'd like to get notifications in Wrike when data/assignee/status is changed on tasks, someone comments without @mentioning me (on a task I follow), task is deleted, etc.. All of these are available for email, but email notifications suck and there isn't an option to have them natively within Wrike."

The ability to get notifications for changes to a task I follow via email is something that we really need. Is this something that is currently being looked at?

@Stephanie Hi! I personally would love to see this release as well and the team is aware of this request. The team isn't deloping this functionality at the moment but if that changes we'll let you know here!

Agree, this would be a great feature to add in Wrike Inbox. Too many email notifications leads users to disabling them all, which defeats the purpose of notifications.

This is the one BIG thing Wrike is missing.  We tell recommend our users to "live in Wrike" and if it's not in Wrike then it doesn't exist.  Problem is often times there's a Workflow status that signals to the current Assignee that the next step in a process can occur.  However, neither in a workflow customization, or via inbox notification does it allow us to provide a notification to the user WITHIN wrike, that the status change has occurred.

The perfect solution is for the workflow to include the option to "Notify current assignee(s)" for any workflow step.  There's an option to re-assign which is great as it pushes a notification to the new assignee; but if the duty falls on the current assignee then there's nothing.

Upvoting because after some years of using Wrike, it still happens a lot that discussions on tasks go unnoticed.

The reason is simple: If I comment without @mentioning the others, the comment is not shown to the others. And after years, the habit to @mention someone has still not formed across the entire team.

Expectation when commenting on a task:

  • The author gets notified.
  • The assingees get notified.
  • Everyone who participated in the conversation gets notified.
  • @mentions are only required to notify someone who is neither assigned nor commented on the task before.

Again from work experience: Everyone I've introduced into Wrike did expect that it just worked the way as explained above. It takes training and concentration that a discussion on a task does not get lost.

This is really the one thing that bugs be about Wrike.

Yes please... same deal. Why can't inbox get the same notification settings as email! Here is my rationale: Since wrike takes LOOONG to load from an email notification, if want to unfollow a task (to keep my notifications meaningful) I have to wait toooo long.

If all of that was in my wrike inbox, unfollowing could be quick quick quick. Don't want that notification? Unfollow!

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease do this for us. This would allow me to get better adoption from my team, and therefore achieve better results in our endeavours.

Thanks for listening. :)

This is a huge miss and drives people back to their email rather than staying in the Wrike inbox.  Please update!

Hi everyone! I've added the "Backburner" status here (same as here: https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115002774389--Status-Backburner-Editing-Notification-Types-in-the-Inbox) so that it's clear to everyone. I'm also marking this as a duplicate of the above mentioned post - please check that one for the updates.

Thanks a lot for your feedback! Our Product team has plans to work on enhancing notifications this year, but we don't have ETA for that.

This is also a HUGE issue for my company/team. Our team does not use email for internal communication so a large portion of our company rarely needs to be on email.

Hi everyone, thank you for your continued support here!

Some of the notifications can be enabled with the recently released Wrike's Automation. It's possible to add a comment and an @mention as an action triggered by some change. Please check out this page and let me know if you have any questions.
