Automate Enabling Project Progress

Hi team,

I really enjoy the project progress option on our work. The one issue I have is that I need to enable it for EVERY project that comes into my space.

Can we get a feature or setting to have project progress automated in specific spaces?

Thank you!

Hi Hayward Sparks III, welcome to Wrike Community 👋

It should be possible to enable project progress for all projects in a space. Here are the steps:

  1. Navigate to the space that you'd like to enable progress for all projects.
  2. Switch to Table view.
  3. Use the gear icon in the top left-hand corner of the panel and turn on the Progress field.
  4. Click the caret icon in the Progress column title, and select Enable/Disable for all projects

You can also find some screenshots for these instructions on this Help Center page 👍

I hope this helps! Please let me know if that worked and if you have any other questions!

Hi there Lisa,

Thanks for your quick response Lisa! So the issue I have currently isn't around enabling for existing projects, its for any new projects that are created after I've done the steps you mentioned above.

In an ideal state, any new project added into a space would automatically have project progress turned on. (e.g. a new project coming from a request form).

As it is now, I need to do this for every new project that comes into the space/folder (which can be a lot of projects!)

If there's a way we can get that I think it will be very helpful for all users.

I am also trying to see if there is a way to automate project progress on all new projects.  Our team finds this feature very helpful for reporting but it has to be manually added .

We would also like to have the progress feature automated. We use the Request Forms and often have projects in our queue before we can get this manual step added. We have a couple hundred projects in our space at all times. Having to remember to manually add this is tedious and results in our reports being inaccurate. We share the reports with our internal customers and when the manual step of enabling is missed on our end, it reflects poorly on my team (and that's a real bummer) making us look like we are not on top of our game...all because we didn't check a box every couple of hours. Please provide an automatic feature sooner rather than later.

Would be terrific to have automatic progress: our spaces are getting huge so enabling it takes quite some time and CPU.

Why isn't it on as a default if I may ask?

I see more comments than upvotes, is there another topic on this?

Hey Nils Troll! I've searched but haven't found a similar thread in this forum, so it looks like we'll need more support here to receive a Product status. But, this feedback has already been passed to the Product team 👍

Seems like if I have progress turned on on my Blueprint it really should automatically be on for any projects created from it, or at least something we can control at the Space level!

Hi Amy Augustyniak, welcome to the Community 🤗

I just tested this, and when the "Progress" field is enabled for the blueprint project, it's also enabled for the project created from this blueprint. Does this help?

Thanks, Lisa! I thought I'd tested it and it didn't work the other day but re-tested again today and I see that you're right!
