How to Add User Custom Field in Request Forms
It seems to be possible to add a User Custom Field to a Request Form since Feb/2021, but I'm trying to create a Form that creates a Project upon submission and when I add a Question in the type "User" I can't find the USer Custom Field I created for Projects, which I called "Team".
This is the User Custom Field I have in all my Projects, where I add the users that are allocated to that project.
But when I create a question type User it doesn't show my Custom Field as an option:
All my Dropdown, Short answers, Checkboxes and Dates Custom Fields work fine. I can see them all in this option. But when I select a User question, my User custom fields don't appear.
Is that a bug or am I doing something wrong?
are you wanting to assign a specific user/group to that new project? what is the question that you are trying ask? - is there another way that it can be answered (e.g. checkbox)?
our workaround for this, in our request forms, is when the requestor picks the department that their from or a certain asset, it auto-assigns a project owner via the conditional branching feature.
Hi Carlos Soares,
the request form editor only shows custom fields that are available in the root folder of your form. Make sure you selected a folder where the task / project should be placed in. If no folder is selected, no custom fields are available.
If you don't want every new task to be placed in the same folder (e. g. you have set up different folders regarding specific questions of your form), you can deselect the root folder after assigning the custom fileds again. That's a little bit annoying, but it works.

I have a similar situation. I have a set of Custom Fields where we select other roles (for example Checker, Approver, Supervisor, Area Leads). We Assign the task to whoever owns or is "responsible" for the task, and set others involved on the side in the custom fields. These custom fields do not seem to show up when I select "User" as the question type. Only Title, Description and Owners show up but not any of the custom fields:
It seems there's no possibillity to pollute a custom field with type "user" by a request form at all.
Hi everyone, it's not possible at the moment to add a user type custom field in a Request Form. There is a similar Product Feedback post here, please feel free to add your upvotes there🙋🏻♀️
