[Status: Investigating ๐ต๏ธโโ๏ธ] Mass Editing Projects - especially moving them is PAINFUL
Hello,
I have a list of 100+ projects in the root folder that I would like to move. However, the quantity of the projects makes moving them a very, very tedious task.
Wrike does not seem to provide any "mass editing" functionality for projects the same way it does for tasks.
Not even multiple selection and dragging.
Would it be possible to get something to mititgate this pain point in the near future?
Thank you very much in advance!
Also for us it would be more than a nice feature. Sometimes you have to rethink folder and project structures.
Is there a concrete time perspective meanwhile?
Hi Torsten Mรผhlhoff, thank you for reaching out! The team considers adding this in the Table View as a part of their longer-term planning, so no ETA available at this point. We'll keep you updated!ย

Yes please. As a use case, my team members are generally owners of 100-200 active projects at a time. When, for instance, one of them goes on parental leave or moves into a new role, we need to reassign ownership of their projects, often all to one person or a small group of people. A mass edit option via Reports or elsewhere would be very helpful here.
Thank you for providing your use-case Eric Prindle!ย

Lisaย is there a key for what all the statuses mean? I'm curious all the level of consideration from "backburner" to "launched".
Hi Lindsey Walters! Here's a post where all statuses' meanings are explainedย ๐

Lisa, is there any update on this?ย I'm a portfolio manager and need to keep dozens of projects organized.ย Editing them in batches would be very helpful.ย

What is the status on this?
It's been around for a while, and it is absolutely needed. If tasks can be mass edited, then of course the projects should be mass edited as well.
This is definitely an important feature to add. Please let us know where it is on the road map. :)
Hi everyone!ย
We got an update from our Product team - they are currently researching this suggestion to validate the possibility of working on it. This is why I've changed the status here to "Investigating". Please note that it hasn't been confirmed yet that the ability to mass edit projects will be added to the roadmap. We will keep you updated on how the research goes.
Thank you for your support here ๐ค

Chiming in to request mass editing of projects too!ย For whatever another "pretty please" is worth!ย

Yes x1000. Having an adjustable data structure allows users to keep the system in agreement with shifting business prios and taxonomies, and that all hinges on our ability to mass edit projects with as much flexibility as tasks. Outdated system data structure leads to either bad reporting or inability to report on new meaningful metrics.ย

There is a huge ask for this functionality! At this time, this thread has over 97 upvotes.ย
For our team, whenever we complete a parent project, we remove the assignees and all shared users (minus our project management team) and we put the projects into an "Archive". This is a super tedious task since we have to repeat this process for each of the subprojects (which can be upwards of 20). It would be amazing to be able to mass remove all assignees, or mass move all projects!
Hi Ashley Fischer, our team is aware of the feedback here and they continue their research on the suggestion.
They are looking at its feasibility, possible effects on other features, and other criteria to ensure that if this suggestion is implemented, it can be done so successfully. As soon as we have more news to share here, we'll be sure to update the thread ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ

Another vote from me as well!ย
Another vote from me as well! The most important thing form our side is to mass-crosstag. That tooks us already several weeks to do it one by one.
Another vote here. It's odd to me that Wrike supports prefixes while not supporting suffixes. Being able to batch edit projects and tasks needs to be implemented somehow.
Thanks a lot for your continued support here, everyone! We'll let you know when we have an update from the Product team ๐

Has anyone found a solution or workaround? it's been 3 years :(ย
I just tried tricking Wrike into working by setting up an automation rule that looks at a custom field for input, it works, but there is no way to 'MASS EDIT' them, in the table view, as soon as you either check the check box, or select the value from the drop down (the only two field types automation work with) Wrike immediately moves the folder out of the table view before I can click and drag the blue dot in the corner of the field to apply it to multiple cells.ย
There HAS to be a way to make this work. I wonder if I try going offline first and then online?...
