[Status: Backburner ⏳] Adding Progress Bar in Tasks
Hi,
I'm Kris Antoni from Toge Productions Pte. Ltd., a video game development studio based in Indonesia. My company has been using Wrike for project management and planning for over a year. We are also using Wrike as an OKR (Objectives and Key Results) tracking system.
It would be great if there's a Progress Bar feature in each Task so that teams or individuals can share and track progress on tasks. Just a simple bar with 0 to 100% where users can update and have it visible on the List, Table, and Timeline views.
This can be beneficial for tracking production as well. For example there's a task "Produce 100 boxes", the team can update/track how many boxes has been produced easily.
Here's a mockup of the Progress Bar
Love this idea Kris, thanks for taking the time to provide the example screenshot mock-up.
You might be aware, you can create a % type Custom Field, where people can add the percentage of completion - but there's no quick reference or visual display like a progress bar.
I'll make sure it's shared with the Product Team.
P.s. developing video games sounds awesome. Welcome to the Community! 🕹
Hi Stephen,
Yes, currently I'm using a combination of Custom Field and Custom Workflow. The problem is currently the custom field doesn't provide quick visual reference in the List and Timeline view, this is where I created custom workflow statuses, but the whole process is not intuitive and doesn't flow seamlessly.
I think it would be great if progress bar could be added. Perhaps in the future, users could customize which custom field to show in the List and Timeline views
Cheers,
Kris
Hi Guys,
I would love to add this for my Team.
Any chance you can give the instructions on how wer can replicate this on our end?
Cheers
Jerome
I was just Googling today "How to show progress bar in Wrike." Yes, please add this feature soon!
Thanks,
Jason
Same issue here pls add it as standard ASAP :)
Progress can be visualized by an icon circle 25%/50%/75%/100%

+1 !!
I'd however add that:
1) Status and progress should be linked: if one set progress to 100% status should automatically be set to "Completed" for example.
2) on the gantt chart, there should be the option to see task % next to each task
3) progress could also be linked to timelogs recorded vs allocated hours

@all, it's early days but the Product Team is working on a solution for this. Right now, if you use Wrike on Android you'll notice that a progress bar is now available. If you're an Android user, please take some time to use it and provide your feedback. I've started a dedicated feedback post about the feature here where you can comment and let us know what you think 👍
Yes, please add a progress bar. Any update on when this will be available?
Thank you Stephen! Looking forward to seeing this feature implemented in all platforms, especially PC web
Checking in on the addition of a progress bar. Wrike, is there any update here?
A progress bar would be super helpful. Since there is a somewhat version of a completion bar in subtasks, could this possibly easily be seen for tasks with subtasks in the list view? It already exists in the task view. I created a mockup of what it would look like.
That would be soo good to have it implemented and it would make Wrike stand up from the rest. Im in charge of animation production and Im using Wrike to manage the creation of each shot for the film, a progress bar would be amazing, especially when creating progress reports for the executive producers who only wants to know the progress and don't have the time to go and check the whole project on a Wrike project page. Please add this feature ASAP. 😀
+1 very much needed!
I would like to add another suggestion:
It is currently possible to enter a number of hours that a person has been working on a task (recording).
So, it would be great if we could also use those hours to convert them to % and show them as progress in the progress bar.
Thank you!
@Ester Hey, thanks for sharing your idea, I think it's great! I'll pass it to the Product team 👍

Great thoughts and a much needed tool. Ideally the % complete field should update a darker color bar that expands respectively from left to right within the task bar in the Gantt chart. This helps because at any time you can visually compare this with the vertical line indicating "Today" and this quickly tells you which tasks are behind or ahead of schedule.
This is really a critical feature for us so we would be quite relieved once we hear it is available.
Please!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hi Stephen,
Now over one year passed and this "basic PM feature" is still not in Wrike?! Hope this important standard feature is coming very soon and will not take another year 🙄.
One of the reasons why at our company we adopted Wrike was to be able to efficiently track OKR. I hope this will come in place soon as for now I am not impressed on how it works.
Please Wrike Team give us some hope 🙂
When trying to get people in the company off Microsoft Project and on to Wrike this is one of their main complaints. I definitely think it should be something that is implemented to help switch people away from Project.
Any update here, Wrike? A simple progress bar / indicator for tasks should be part of any project management software.
Hey everyone, thanks for your continued support here! Our team has released Project Progress, and a similar solution for tasks is also planned. I can's share ETA at the moment, but I'll let you know as soon as I have more details.
Thanks for posting!
