Budgeting in Wrike

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a way to track my budget in Wrike across all the vendors we use throughout the year. Ideally, I’d like to create a view that shows: •    A list of vendors with the percentage of the budget spent with each •    A pie chart or visual summary of how much of our overall budget has been used

Has anyone set up a budget tracking system like this in Wrike before? I’d love to hear any suggestions, tips, or examples of how you’ve structured yours.

Thanks in advance!

As far as I can tell, you can't use pie charts in Wrike for budget calculations. BUT you can use calculated formula fields with conditional logic to show if you're within budget or not. I have both a Report and a Dashboard view set up for this:

Here's the dashboard widget example:

And that widget is configured to point at the folder with the projects (or vendors, in your use case) and then set to show the budget fields. Here's how the formula field works:

The Report is set up similarly to the Dashboard:

The color-coded status indicator does not show in Report view, only in the Dashboard (or table) view.

Good luck!

Hi Brooke Buchanan,
I think it's quite simple to get what you're asking for.
For a client I created an electronic warehouse to manage the products that they physically have in stock that they will then have to install for customers.

That said, here's how I would approach your case.

Use of 2 custom item types, one called "expenses" and one called "budget", both custom item types must have at least 2 custom fields:
1- Client (drop-down menu with the list of clients);
2- Amount ($ or €) amount of the single expense and/or available budget;
3- Year of competence (drop-down menu with the selectable year)

Ideally for each client I will have 1 "Budget" task for each year and 1 "expenses" task every time an expense is made.

To simplify the work I would use forms to create the "budget" or "expenses" tasks.

The result will be a list of tasks (budget and expenses) within a predefined space like below:

You could then use a dashboard to visualize the data, such as:

I know it's very simple, but without any other information I wanted to provide you with a quick solution.
Obviously available to give you an additional hand if you want to provide your use case.
