Parent change triggers in Task Automation

Can we please get Parent change triggers in task automation?  There are many instances where this would be useful, for instance changing a CIT between a milestone and a 1 day task based on whether the parent project is in planning or developement. There are many other times I have wanted to have this type of trigger, and it is always a disappointment when it's not there.

On the same topic, can we get change certain task status for the project automations?  The current change all subitems status is fairly useless.

Agree, we have frequently needed parent change triggers as well. We have cases when if a parent task is in a certain status, an assignee of a child task needs to take certain actions and an automated reminder would go a long way toward helping things not fall through the cracks.

Yes, this would be great added functionality. Both ways. Where if a field is changed you can roll it up to the parent item and or if on the parent it is altered to roll it down to the sub items

The most flexible way would be that for all "when" statements, there would be a parent, subtask and all subtask alternative.

e.g.:

- When custom field changes

- When parent custom field changes

- when subtask custom field changes

- when all subtask custom field changes

And the same for "Then do this":

- change assignee

- change assignee for parent

- change assignee for all subtasks
