Recycle bin filtering for blueprints and projects
Hello!
I have had some struggles sifting through the Recycle Bin to restore deletions (especially when they are accidental) and would like to pitch my suggestions as product feedback.
The current filtering in the Recycle Bin does not allow us to narrow down by project, folder, or blueprint.
Projects and folder
- These always hang around at the top, so when we apply filtering for tasks, you have to keep scrolling until you pass these items
- We simply cannot narrow down by project or folder in case that's what we are looking for
- Filtering in active spaces under Table view now allows you to apply project filtering and it's been great; would love to see this in the Recycle Bin, too (might only be possible if we can switch the view to Table in the Recycle Bin)
Blueprints
- Blueprints are only identifiable in item view with the bluebonnet that appears across the top of the item, making it hard to narrow down on them when in the Recycle Bin, which mixes previously-active work and blueprints all together
- It would be nice if either there was a separate admin Recycle Bin for blueprints only or if there was a way to only filter on blueprints to help us find our items quicker
Thanks!
Already upvoted! I agree that adding different views to help sort and catch any accidental deletes would be very useful. A blueprint filter could be useful too. Anna Giacobbe there is also this post on reporting and dashboards to help admins with the recycle bin. There are not many upvotes, but any improvement that could help with compliance would be a great benefit.
Thanks Alexandra Torres! I upvoted the post you shared :)

Had an issue today where one of our users accidentally deleted a bunch of blueprints. Even with new filtering, there is no way to parse deleted blueprints from deleted actual work. This is a huge pain point. I have to go through a list of 380+ deletions from an activity report to see what's a blueprint vs. what was real work and decide which to restore. On top of it, restoring deleted blueprints does not restore their dependencies, which is another big pain point that I'm facing now.
Hey Anna Giacobbe, thanks for bringing this up. You might already be doing this, but having a consistent naming convention for blueprints can make them easier to search for and identify in the Recycle Bin. Still, I understand this isn’t a real substitute for a dedicated blueprint filter or view, apart from the bluebonnet icon at the top of the item view.
I’ll go ahead and share your feedback with our Product team. 👍🏽
