Reporting and Dashboards - Recycle Bin

Administration of the Recycle bin has become an issue as we scale out the usage of Wrike. With the wonderful ๐Ÿ˜ƒ dashboard and reporting functionality Wrike offers, they don't extend to the recycle bin. We would love to see this added. For context: See Post.

I agree, we need to be better able to review the contents of the recycle bin. Mass Deletion of items would be really helpful. Perhaps a "to be deleted" bucket for Deleted items to drop into first, then an Admin can move them to the permanent Recycle Bin? Or, maybe go to a Recycle Bin first, then to Deleted.  Just thinking out loud. Do see the post Michael has tagged for further details on why this would be a big help.

I also have this question around how to manage the recycle bin as an administrator. We have had users accidentally delete projects as they were showing up at the top of their left navigation. These projects were part of another folder where they did not have access to the folder itself.

I am interested in a way to manage recycle bin items with a report to see what's in there as well as when it was deleted.  Since the contents display in alphabetical order it's difficult to find items that may need to be restored. We've found that we need to rely on messages that have come through with the project name and then search by the name to locate the item.

There are many test projects that can be deleted permanently, however since the removal for these is one-by-one, we are seeing the management of the recycle bin difficult. And as more users are adopting the system, I'm concerned about management of the recycle bin as it's growing exponentially.

Any advice is welcome.

Thanks!

We need to restrict viewing and deletion of our shared Recycle Bin?

Hey everyone, thanks for reaching out here!

That's very interesting guys, thanks for bringing this up ๐Ÿ‘ Although it is not on the current roadmap, I can see how this can be helpful, so I'll bring this up again soon to see if there's an update.

In the meantime, I think that Access Roles can help here. For example, only the Full Access Role enables you to delete tasks, folders and projects. If you give your team Editor Access, they will be able to create tasks, add comments and attachments, track time and a lot more, but they won't be able to share and delete. Please check out the Help Center article for more details and get back here if you have any questions/comments - I'll be happy to discuss ๐Ÿ™‚

We are facing similar difficulties managing the recycle bin. With the number of users growing into the thousands, the recycle bin is filling up rapidly. The Admin hardly has a way of knowing which items can be โ€œerasedโ€. On top of that erasing is a one by one action.

More flexibility for managing the recycle bin would be very welcome.

  • E.g. A possibility to set to erase items automatically when deleted more than x days / weeks / months ago

I've seen several posts regarding this topic but this one seemed the most appropriate.

Thanks in advance.

I was surprised to discover that I can't create a dashboard to monitor the recycle bin.  Although I appreciate Lisa's suggestion that Access Roles can help with this issue, that functionality is not available to those of us using a Professional account.  We also really need a way to watch and manage the Recycle Bin. Please don't build this in just Business and Enterprise!

Thanks.
